Student answer (Band 5.0)

The population will be very huge in a kind of cities like meteropolition, tourists spots etc.Their providing a best way for homes is to build tall apartments why because there population will be very huge in that 50 % space will be taken for companies , resturants, pubs, visiting spots etc . So people will not get enough space to build there houses so for that we can build a tall apartments in a huge space which includes apporximately 40-50 houses. So it will be very helpful for people to stay over there and there is many advantages in that.

Advantages are like people use to get their parking for vehicles, and accomadations will be less where we will get everything in little ammount and no need to purchase furnitures we will get everything in that house and schools will be there in particular apartments where our childrens can study and one major thing is security , security will be very strict so that unknown persons cant enter the apartments, and we will get clubs and sports rooms to play so that we can play and enjoy like that many more advantages are there.

Disadvantages are like we need to pay the security fees every month, and we need to follow the apartment rules and regulations, and somtimes if we are getting distrubed from our own neighbours then we cant do anything we cant even complaint anyone in those apartments. Then if we place any online orders the delivery partners will keep our orders in the security counter itself if many orders are there then we will be confused like which is ours like that there is a chance of misplace as well and in the walking colony there will be very distrubances where we wont get peace place to sit.

Like that many advantage and disadvantages will be there where it will be completely based on the persons perspective where he can choose to stay in apartment or not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt partially, outlining both advantages and disadvantages of building tall apartment blocks in large cities. However, the position is not always clear, and the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed. For instance, the opening mentions that 50 percent of space is taken by companies, restaurants, and pubs, but this point is not clearly linked back to the core question of whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The development of ideas tends to rely on repetitive listing of features rather than deeper exploration of the social, economic, or urban planning implications.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization evident in the division into paragraphs, distinguishing between the introduction, advantages, disadvantages, and a brief conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of argument, and the response lacks sophisticated cohesive devices. Transitional phrases are basic or repetitive, often relying on conversational connectors like 'Like that' and 'Then' to link sentences and ideas. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the mechanical flow hinders the overall readability of the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'meteropolition' for metropolitan, 'accomadations', 'ammount', and 'furnitures', alongside awkward word choices like 'walking colony'. These errors and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary. Attempts to use less common items are generally unsuccessful due to inaccuracies in word form and collocation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on run-on sentences and simple coordination connected by 'and'. Attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to noticeable grammar errors such as subject-verb agreement issues ('there population will be very huge'), incorrect pronoun usage ('there houses', 'where our childrens can study'), and missing articles. Frequent punctuation and grammatical errors cause regular difficulty for the reader in parsing the intended meaning.
