Student answer (Band 5.5)
The most efficient idea to provide housing to every family in big cities is to build tall condominium blocks. I agree with this idea and that's because of several reason like wastage of money land and its not good for the surrounding enviroment as well.
Firstly we will talk about the wastage of money. If you are going to build a huge house or villa for yourself in the big cities. It will probably cost you your whole life saving which you are saving from your teenage for the future. However if you spend all of the money on buying or building and exclusive and expensive house or villa you will be broke in very short time again and you will be searching to find a way to resell the house on the half payment you buy it.So it will cost you the money as well as your peace of mind on the other hand if we just buy one small apartment we can still live there and enjoy the rest of our life.
Secondly we will have alot of land shortage in the big cities if everyone wants there own house and villa in the city there will be no free space for the supermarket, gardens, playgrounds and many other neccessary things in the city and the whole system of the city will be screwed up dus to this people will go to nearby cities for shopping and there other needs which will waste alot of there time and money on traveling as well at the end they will get mad of this thing and leaving the big cities will be the only solution for them .
The main reason i support the condominium blocks idea was my own city mardan every person here want there own house and not just a house a big one will effect the enviroment very badly like there's no playgroung left for childern to play games in it there is no more the two parks for the 5 lacs peoples in the city and most of the time we have to visit another city for shopping and other important thing that e need.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the statement, supported by reasons related to financial savings and land conservation. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which places it at this level. For instance, the second body paragraph discusses land shortage and urban planning quite well, but the first paragraph spends an excessive amount of narrative space describing personal financial regret over buying a villa ('broke in very short time again and you will be searching to find a way to resell the house') rather than focusing strictly on the macro-level housing debate. To reach a higher level, all supporting arguments need to be consistently expanded with well-focused, relevant examples that directly answer the prompt without straying into personal advice or overly colloquial tangents.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction, followed by distinct body paragraphs marked by signposts like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and the personal example. However, cohesion is often mechanical and referencing is sometimes unclear, which is characteristic of this band. For example, pronouns lack clear antecedents in places, and transitions between sentences can feel abrupt, such as jumping directly from land shortages to people getting 'mad of this thing'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical progression is occasionally disrupted by run-on sentences and a lack of smooth conjunctions. To improve, the writer should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure each sentence builds logically upon the previous one without relying on repetitive structural templates.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate basic arguments about housing and urban development using terms like 'condominium blocks', 'wastage of money', and 'land shortage'. However, the range is limited, and there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form that reflect this band. Examples include 'enviroment' (environment), 'playgroung' (playground), 'neccessary' (necessary), and the awkward collocation 'half payment you buy it'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but these attempts often result in unnatural phrasing, such as 'dus to this' or '5 lacs peoples'. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire with more precise academic terminology and pay closer attention to spelling and standard collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures through conditional clauses and relative clauses, such as 'If you are going to build a huge house or villa for yourself in the big cities'. However, these attempts are frequently marred by punctuation errors, particularly comma splices and run-on sentences, as seen when multiple distinct clauses are fused together without proper punctuation or conjunctions. There are also persistent errors in articles ('the condominium blocks idea'), subject-verb agreement ('every person here want'), and capitalization (lowercase 'i'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur regularly throughout the text. To progress, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence architecture and punctuation, ensuring that sentences are accurately punctuated and grammatically sound.
