Student answer (Band 4.5)
Nowadays, we have enough homes in large cities. The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. I totally agree with this statement. I will describe in further passages and conclude with my own relevent example.
In large cities we can see that how many poor people are living without homes. So our government provide a free homes to needed people. In large cities people migrate from village without knowning that in large cities we have enough homes because of that they have to stay in the hotel rooms and give high payable rent. For example, after such a development in large cities still so many people are homeless. Governement give an opporutunity to buy homes without money but there are so many people who don't have an idea about this opportunity and stay on road or anywhere. I think homeless people are responsible for their situation. In our city government build tall apartment blocks we can see that around us we have 15 floors building or 20 floors building but so many people don't have an idea.
Another way to provide enough homes in large cities is less rent. In our city we have lack of homes so people want more money without knowing opposite people situation.
In conclusion, I would like to say that as I said I totally agree with this statement. This is the best way to provide tall apartments or building but I think that we have to stop increasing homes price so poor people can buy homes and no one sleep on road.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the prompt minimally, presenting a position that you agree with the statement about building tall apartment blocks, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. While you attempt to discuss housing solutions in large cities, your arguments are often tangential or confusing, such as claiming that 'we have enough homes in large cities' while simultaneously discussing homelessness. Furthermore, your points regarding government assistance and people not knowing about opportunities lack clear extension and logical support. To move higher, you need to present well-developed ideas with clear, directly relevant supporting points and examples that properly explore the complexities of urban housing solutions rather than making contradictory statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The information and ideas are not arranged coherently, making it difficult for the reader to follow a clear progression of thought. While you attempt paragraphing to separate your introduction, body points, and conclusion, the internal organization of each paragraph lacks clear logical sequencing. Cohesive devices are used very minimally or inappropriately, and referencing is frequently unclear, such as in sentences like 'For example, after such a development in large cities still so many people are homeless.' To improve, you need to ensure that each paragraph has a central topic sentence, ideas are linked logically using appropriate cohesive devices, and there is a clear overall progression throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, utilizing restricted terms like 'large cities', 'homes', and 'people' excessively throughout the text. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations that strain the reader, such as 'high payable rent', 'give an opporutunity', and 'stop increasing homes price'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'relevent', 'knowning', 'Governement', and 'opporutunity'. To achieve a higher band, you must demonstrate a wider and more flexible range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items with greater precision and awareness of style and collocation, and ensure accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple sentence structures and basic patterns. When you attempt more complex forms, they frequently contain errors, such as 'In large cities we can see that how many poor people are living without homes' and 'so our government provide a free homes to needed people.' Errors in articles, plurals, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions are frequent and often distort the meaning. To progress, you need to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures with good control, significantly reducing the frequency of basic grammatical errors so that your sentences become much more accurate.
