Student answer (Band 5.0)
To begin with, providing enough home for pupils are the most important things for the goverment. Perhaps, there is much more normal house, double storey house and more the apartment house. Pupils are still looking for the apartment home since its was budget friendly. Initially, I will explain from my perspective about agree and disagree for this statement.
I agree with the statement, pupils now are in modern life which is busy living in the city. Living in the tall apartment feel more comfortable than others. The facilities are bigger than normal. For example, they more convinent for the things they purchase. Secondly, pupils feel more calm and peace staying in apartment. From my point of view, pupils living in the apartment are less making sound and noises. For example, apartment are tend to stay less noise up to 10pm night. This an basic rules for pupils living in the apartment.
However, from my perspective to disagree this statement pupils are in busy life may less interact with surronding neighbours due to their modern life. For example, once complete their working hours they find self for using mobile phone to stay energatic. However, this causes impact for the neighbourhood. Secondly, living in the tall apartment causes a very strict for the upcoming events that could be conducted. The approval may not be given of the person incharge, therefor having a strict rules. Instance, having an family gathering 10pm above.
Summary, pupils are happy if the management build more tall apartment. People are feel relaxed and peace of mind whenever they back home after work for recharge theirself. From my own opinion, I would rather stay in apartment to stay focused on my growth and may interact with surronding during the weekend as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task partially, presenting a position that leans towards both agreeing and disagreeing with the prompt, though the development remains limited and under-developed throughout. The student uses the term 'pupils' repeatedly where 'people' or 'residents' is clearly intended, which affects the clarity of the arguments. While there are relevant ideas introduced—such as affordability, noise control, and reduced interaction with neighbours—these points are not fully extended or supported with convincing explanations. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to present a clearer, more consistent position and develop each main idea with relevant, well-elaborated examples rather than superficial assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation in the essay, with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of thought. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, as seen in the formulaic transitions ('To begin with', 'Secondly', 'However') which often do not establish logical relationships between ideas. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun 'this' referring to vague concepts. To achieve a higher band, the writer must ensure that ideas follow a logical sequence and that cohesive devices are used more flexibly and accurately to connect sentences and paragraphs smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as inappropriate word choices ('pupils' instead of people, 'apartment home', 'stay less noise'), awkward collocations, and word form errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive throughout the essay. To improve in this criterion, the writer needs to expand their lexical repertoire, pay closer attention to word choices and collocations appropriate for academic writing, and ensure that terms are used with precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited range of structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement ('providing enough home... are'), missing or incorrect articles, prepositions inside grammatical patterns ('disagree this statement'), and verb tense inconsistencies ('its was budget friendly'). These errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader. To reach the next band, the student should aim to increase the proportion of error-free sentences by exercising better control over basic grammatical structures, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
