Student answer (Band 5.0)
Building homes for people had become an alarming issue due to overpopulation in the world and also people started moving towards urban areas leaving rural areas making the urban areas more conjusted.I
strongly with constructing tall apartment blocks because these infrastructures can be built on small spaces and provide huge maount to home or apartment to people to live. These building also save pollution by building one infrastructure instead of making dozens of homes.Everything in this world has both advantages and disadvantages of its own. The main advantage of building tall apartments is that it provide homes to large amount of people over small area and people can enjoy the view from thier apartments easily. These apartment coast less then building or buying a house and it save people from different taxes and people pay only few taxes as compared to house owners. Tall apartments also have disadvantages that these tall apartments tend to be at very height and have have rosh of collapsing due to severe earthquakes and floods. Moreover, these apartyonly have one to two rooms and suitable for small families but if family is more then 3 people it will be difficult for the family to have privacy and they will be conjusted. In conclusion,I like to say that constructing these tall apartments is a very good choice but the condition is that they should be constructed with high quality material and have all type of protection to keep the people safe from the danger and other hazards.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks, but the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the points regarding pollution reduction and financial benefits are stated briefly without sufficient expansion or relevant examples. Furthermore, it is important to note that the response falls short of the minimum word requirement, containing only 247 words instead of the required 250. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully extend and support all main ideas with well-elaborated examples and ensure the length requirement is successfully met.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organisation with a discernible introduction and conclusion, but there is a lack of clear overall progression throughout the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used rather repetitively and mechanically, such as the repeated reliance on basic connectors like 'moreover' and 'in conclusion'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the main body ideas are somewhat lumped together without clear logical transitions between distinct points. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun usage when referring back to previous concepts. To improve, the writer should group ideas more logically into distinct paragraphs and employ a wider, more natural variety of cohesive links.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about urban housing. There are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'conjusted', 'maount', 'coast', 'rosh', and 'apartyonly', which occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Word choice lacks precision, and collocations are often unnatural. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, practice correct word forms, and eliminate frequent spelling errors by proofreading their work carefully before submission.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic coordination. Attempts at more complex structures are frequently faulty, leading to run-on sentences and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods. There are frequent grammatical errors involving verb tenses, articles, and prepositions, including 'Building homes for people had become', 'provide huge maount to home', and 'family is more then 3 people'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty and strain for the reader. To progress, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of complex grammatical structures while improving accuracy in basic sentence construction.
