Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely beleived that shellter is a fundamental rights of human being so home is necessary for them. Governments should provide enough homes to them by build tall apartment blocks. I am partially agree with this statements and provide a relevant examples from my knowledge.

On the one hand, building tall apartment blocks can provide a decent and numerous houses for an individuals in less area with in cheap amount. People can easily adjust in one apartments blocks and get all types of facilities at a place. Due to this, an individuals can connect with each others and creates a strong bond by sharing their ideas, work experience and many more. For instance, if there is large number of group peoples lived at same apartments than it makes more convinent for governments to provide basic facilitities like water, electricity, medicial treatments and food. Thus, build tall apartments is beneficials for an individuals and governments.

On the other hand, there is also some disadvantage of build tall apartment blocks like traffic congestion and noise pollution. If large groups of people lived at one place, it may creates lots of problem like shortage of electricity, food, water etc. For example, many individuals have desire to have personal parking and gardens for walk but due to heavy crowded there is less chance of these facilities in apartments blocks. Thus, build tall appartments means not to solve all the problem of peoples.

In conclusion, the advantage of build tall apartments in large cities outweigh the disadvantage of housing problems. It's more benificials for governments to invest less amount of money in apartments blocks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement with the statement about building tall apartment blocks in large cities. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay, discussing both advantages such as efficient space usage and community building, and disadvantages like traffic congestion and pollution. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the points about utilities and personal facilities are repetitive and lack deep elaboration with fully realized supporting examples. While the main parts of the prompt are covered, the ideas would need more comprehensive extension and specific real-world illustration to reach a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some organization with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs addressing opposing views, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression across the text, making the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently repetitive or mechanical, such as the repeated reliance on connectors like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'Thus'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical transitions between sentences can be abrupt. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun use, which hinders the overall cohesion of the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about housing and city living. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as spelling mistakes ('beleived', 'shellter', 'benificials', 'appartments'), incorrect word forms ('partially agree' instead of 'partially agree', 'build tall' instead of 'building tall'), and awkward word choices ('in cheap amount' or 'heavy crowded'). These inaccuracies sometimes cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted range of vocabulary. To improve, the writer needs to expand their control of word building, collocations, and spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, relying mostly on simple and predictable sentence structures. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'is fundamental rights' instead of 'is a fundamental right', 'to them by build' instead of 'by building', and 'a large number of group peoples lived' instead of 'groups of people living'. Punctuation and prepositions also show frequent errors that can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. Greater control over complex sentence patterns and basic grammatical accuracy is necessary for further progress.
