Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that by builging tall apartment blocks is the great option to provide enough houses in large cities.I believe that such a trend have more advantages then it's drawback.
Firstly, this type of housing provided enough spaces for many people to live in a single appartment block, whereas the single houses take more area to build then apartment blocks where only one single family lives, but in appartments many families live with each other on the single building. The appartments are affordable to buy or rent in comperation to single home, because in single home you are paing for the land also, but in appartmenta you are not going to pay for the land. They are more secure and have facilities, because there were many families living in the smaller area so it's easy to manage them in comperation to large people living in large area.
on the downside, there is a less privercy in this type of housing becasue people lives clossere to each other. There were limited spaces for gardens and not have larger room there desing of all the appartments is same for evrey one. There were many restrictions about and rules about pets, renovation, common area, because this type of this can distrube you're nabour . These were some disadvantages of appartments
Overall, Apartments blocks were the great idea to provide enough housing to people, whereas there were some disadvantages also but the advantage extent the disadvantage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that tall apartment blocks are the best solution, supporting this with relevant ideas such as affordability, security, and space efficiency. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking deeper elaboration or specific real-world examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the minimum length requirement, containing only 238 words instead of the required 250 words. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully develop each supporting point with extended explanations and concrete examples while ensuring the essay meets the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays some logical organization with basic attempts at paragraphing and transitional markers such as 'Firstly' and 'on the downside'. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, and cohesive devices are often repetitive, inaccurate, or mechanical, such as the frequent repetition of 'appellantment' and 'single home'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas feels abrupt. To improve, the writer should employ a wider and more varied range of cohesive ties, ensure smoother transitions between paragraphs, and organize the central arguments with a clearer logical flow that guides the reader seamlessly through the discussion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The vocabulary is repetitive, and there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'builging', 'appartment', 'comperation', 'privercy', 'clossere', and 'nabour', which occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some topic-specific terms like 'renovation' and 'facilities', but frequent lexical inaccuracies restrict the precision of the argument. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their vocabulary range, learn the correct spelling and collocations of common academic terms, and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is quite limited, relying mostly on basic sentence structures. When the writer attempts complex sentences, they are frequently faulty, containing frequent errors in verb tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. Examples include 'by builging tall apartment blocks is the great option', 'trend have more advantages then it\'s drawback', and 'there were many families living in the smaller area so it\'s easy to manage them'. These frequent errors place a strain on the reader. To progress, the writer needs to practice using a wider variety of complex grammatical structures accurately and pay closer attention to basic agreement rules and verb forms.
