Student answer (Band 5.5)

Today there are not enough homes for people for living. So many people suggest building tall apartment block is the best way to provide homes in large cities. I strongly agree with this statement. Since the land for building soo many homes for all people are limited. Furthurmore, the land for building home are very expencive nowadays.

Firstly, the land for building different homes for all people is not possible. As the land efficient for building homes on them are limited. So building tall block of apartment is much efficient. Firstly, it take less land for building ruther than providing different homes to each person also it we can provide homes to many people at once. Today many big and important cities follow say way to provide homes to so many people on small land. Lets take a example of japan a very important country of world. Since japan is a small country with so many mountains so the land is limited for building homes. So japan use the method of bulding apartments in one tall building to provide home for citizens.

Secondly, Nowadays prices of lands efficient for building are very expencive. Most of the people can not afford to buy the land for building their house. So in this sittuation building tall blocks of apartment come in handy. Since there are so many apartments build in one tall block of building it's less expencive and most peop[le can afford them.

In conclusion, Building tall blocks of apartments is most efficient way to provide homes to the people how can not afford the expencive land for building house. Also it can be build on small land since lands for building houses are limited.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully address all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position of strong agreement with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. Your main arguments focus on the limited availability of land and the high cost of property. However, some ideas remain under-developed or repetitive. For example, your explanation regarding Japan is somewhat simplistic, and the points about land scarcity are restated across multiple paragraphs without being significantly extended or supported with deeper analysis. To reach a higher level, you need to fully develop your supporting points by exploring broader socio-economic impacts or contrasting your views with alternative solutions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance presented in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. You attempt to guide the reader through your arguments using sequencing expressions such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical and faulty. For instance, the transition 'Furthurmore' is used awkwardly, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'say way' instead of 'the same way'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion could be improved by varying your linking devices and ensuring smoother logical transitions between sentences rather than relying on repetitive introductory adverbs.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'limited', 'efficient', and 'afford'. However, your response contains numerous spelling errors—such as 'block' instead of 'blocks', 'furthurmore', 'expencive', 'ruther', 'sittuation', and 'peop[le'—as well as word-choice slips like 'land efficient' instead of 'land suitable for building'. While these lexical inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they restrict your score. To improve, you should expand your control of less common lexical items, refine your collocations, and practice accurate spelling of everyday academic vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms to convey your ideas. There are instances of correct grammatical structures, but your writing is also marked by some persistent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include agreement issues like 'building tall block of apartment is much efficient', prepositional and article mistakes such as 'Lets take a example of japan', and sentence fragment tendencies in phrases like 'Since the land for building soo many homes for all people are limited.' These errors require some effort from the reader to interpret, but communication is rarely completely blocked. To progress further, you need to increase your range of error-free complex sentences and carefully check subject-verb agreement and article usage.
