Student answer (Band 5.5)

Constructing tall buildings or skyscrapers is the best source of fulfilling the home demands in populated cities within the less covered area, Some people argue that this is the best way to provide the homes to the population. I strongly agree with this statement to completing the house demand in large cities, However proper planning should be done before starting any solution.

The biggest advantages of owning a apartment or home in tall buildings can be hassle free or more stressless than owning a separate house which is beneficial for both the normal public buying those homes and the government, Like hundreds of people can live within the covered area of not more than 20 houses if build separately, The main benefit the person buying home in these apartments will he going to pay way less than a owning a separate house or maybe pay half the price, Another most important and time consuming action can be cover up if the building is made near the indrustial area or city centre, providing a relieve to the job persons and buisness owners.

Despite these advantages, building tall buildings only will not solve the overall problem of the people, If the building is not build properly with a proper plan it can show its negative side including: Unproper building structure or homes space can be compromised, with addition to disorganised parking making difficult for traffic to go through, Secondly if management is not working according to there level, Public can face safety concerns, Discomforting the normal people living there.

In conlusion, Tall buildings can be useful for controlling the huge number of population within limited area if managed properly, Otherwise the can be negative consequences too, So the management performs the reamrkable role in ensuring people are safe and happy living in the buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear overall position agreeing with the statement. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the economic benefits and the need for proper planning, but some parts are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For example, the mention that tall buildings can be near industrial areas or city centres is not fully explored with specific examples or deep explanation. The main position is maintained throughout the essay, but the depth of argument prevents it from reaching a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas, such as advantages versus disadvantages. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Sentences are occasionally connected loosely with commas instead of appropriate conjunctions or full stops, and referencing is not always clear, as seen with ambiguous pronoun use like 'the management performs the remarkable role'. Progression is present, but the logical links between sentences can feel disjointed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'skyscraper', 'industrial area', and 'negative consequences'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling that reflect a limited and developing lexical range. Examples include 'home demands' instead of housing demand, 'stressless' instead of stress-free, 'indrustial' (spelling), and 'unproper' instead of improper. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the vocabulary score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at varied structures such as conditional and relative clauses ('If the building is not build properly...'). However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and word forms within complex structures. Examples include agreement and tense errors like 'if build separately' instead of if built separately, missing articles ('owning a apartment'), and incorrect prepositions ('working according to there level'). These errors require some effort to decode but rarely completely impede communication.
