Student answer (Band 5.0)
I partly agree with the concept of tall buildings beacuse the advantages and issues goes hand in hand . If i talk about myself i will not prefare to live in the apartments because of the issues i had to face.In addition i always prefare to live in the house rather than apartments beacuse of the privacy issues and i want the proper garden area for my morning routine which i will not get in the aparments due to limited space.
At the outset if we focus on the positive aspects the aparments help us to accomodate more people to live at the same place moreover people from the same family get the chance to pursue there life in the same building.one more the government also get the benefit to build the aparment because it utilize less land space.
In contrast when it comes to drawbacks there is alot of issue caused related to electricity, schools and hospitals and water aswell more demad arise from the residance. Moreover so many people concentrate at the same place causes traffic and public transports issues which make there life miserable. In additon they dont have a space for proper greenery areas
overall, if government made a proper system of schools, traffic, water supply, electricity breakdown and many more it will not be the bad idea but it also depend upon the people oponion how they want to spend there there lives which preference they have. From my perspective it is diffuilt to provide

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks, presenting a partial agreement stance. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed, which keeps the score at this level. While you mention personal preference for houses and community benefits such as efficient land use, these points lack detailed explanation or supporting examples. Furthermore, your personal anecdotes take up a significant portion of the body text rather than expanding on broader socio-economic arguments. Additionally, it is important to note that the response falls short of the required minimum length, containing 244 words instead of the mandated 250 words, which restricts your ability to fully explore the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your essay demonstrates some overall organisation, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark, but it lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is frequently confused—for instance, personal preferences are mixed with community issues, and the conclusion cuts off abruptly. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inadequate or repetitive, relying heavily on basic linkers such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'At the outset'. Furthermore, referencing and logical transitions between sentences are sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of argument seamlessly from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'advantages', 'privacy', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'beacuse' instead of 'because', 'prefare' instead of 'prefer', 'aparments' instead of 'apartments', and 'accomodate' instead of 'accommodate'. You attempt some less common vocabulary items like 'concentration' and 'infrastructure-related concerns', but these are often used inaccurately or affected by persistent spelling mistakes, which restricts your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. When you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty, featuring missing verbs, incorrect prepositions, or run-on structures without proper punctuation. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles—for example, 'the government also get the benefit', 'demad arise from the residance', and 'if government made a proper system'. These frequent errors require the reader to decode your meaning and prevent the sentence structures from achieving greater variety and accuracy.
