Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response responds to the task only minimally and fails to meet the required word count minimum of 250 words, stopping abruptly at 178 words. While the writer attempts to present a position ('So i am partially agree'), the ideas remain severely limited and under-developed. The discussion touches briefly on Mumbai and Delhi but lacks adequate extension, explanation, or relevant examples. Consequently, the main parts of the prompt are only partially addressed, keeping the response at a basic level where arguments are left incomplete and abruptly cut off.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some basic organisation, opening with an introductory attempt and moving into body paragraphs indicated by transition phrases like 'On one hand' and 'While on other hand'. However, there is no clear overall progression due to the incomplete nature of the response. Cohesive devices are used rather mechanically, such as 'to over come with these problem' and referencing is occasionally unclear. Furthermore, the paragraphing is disrupted by the premature ending of the essay, which prevents a logical flow of ideas from developing through to a proper conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for conveying basic thoughts, though noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader. There are frequent spelling and word choice inaccuracies, such as 'appartment' instead of apartment, 'conjusted' instead of congested, 'belive' instead of believe, and 'benefical' instead of beneficial. The writer attempts to use some less common words like 'considerable debate' and 'population management', but these are undermined by recurring lexical slips and awkward phrasing that restrict the precision of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Grammatically, the response displays a limited range of sentence structures, with attempts at complex sentences often proving faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing capitalisation at the start of sentences ('Somepeople', 'So i'), run-on clauses ('is now become a topic', 'where people living in'), and incorrect prepositions or articles ('in compare to', 'the builiding tall appartment block'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty and distraction for the reader, reflecting basic control over simple sentence forms while struggling with accurate complex formations.
