Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that apartments are best way to provide enough homes in a limited land in cities espacially in dense polluted areas. I strongly agree with this development because tall buildings can provide accommodation a large number of people after use of limited land.
On the one hand, high rise buildings use less land compared to housing schemes because a single tall building accommodate hundred of families in a single building while making use efficient limited land. Another significant positive aspect of this development is that tall buildings helps reduce owercrowding like, expand of cities and aslo beneficial for housing shortage. For example, a 20-storey buliding provide a large number of apartments for many families on same land that provide only few houses. As a result, build tall apartment blocks helps to accommodate a excessive number of families.
Another considerable benefit of tall apartment blocks is that, in a apartment community authorities provide all essential facilities such as, schools, shops, parks, and other major things that are necessary for daily life of individuals. Apartment blocks usually built close to the workplaces like, factories, offices, and other major workplaces. For instance, if individuals live in apartment with their family and aslo do a job, therefore they are may no have any transport difficulty to went to their workplace. Consequently, people avail a significant number of ficilities in one place.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that building tall apartment blocks is an effective way to provide sufficient housing in large cities because they can accommodate more people while making efficient use of limited land.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear, consistent position throughout in strong agreement with the prompt. The main ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, such as discussing efficient land use and the provision of essential community facilities. However, some ideas show a tendency to be repetitive or under-developed, which prevents the score from reaching a higher level. For instance, the discussion on reducing overcrowding and urban expansion is stated rather than fully explored with deep logical extension. Examples like the '20-storey building' provide some support, but the arguments occasionally circle back to the same points about limited land and accommodating many families rather than branching out into new dimensions of the debate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from the introduction through two body paragraphs to a concluding stance. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct main ideas, with each body paragraph focusing on a specific angle of the argument. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Devices such as 'On the one hand' are used without a corresponding 'On the other hand', which disrupts the logical linking structure. Additionally, referencing and transitional phrases occasionally feel repetitive, and some sentences lack smooth transitions, reflecting the characteristics of this solid middle band while showing glimpses of clearer organizational flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'accommodation', 'overcrowding', and 'essential facilities'. However, there are noticeable lexical resource limitations, including frequent spelling errors like 'espacially', 'owercrowding', 'buliding', 'aslo', and 'ficilities'. Furthermore, word choice and collocations are occasionally awkward or imprecise, such as 'limited land in cities', 'accommodate hundred of families', and 'went to their workplace'. These errors reflect a limited vocabulary range where communication is maintained despite persistent lexical inaccuracies, keeping the score firmly in this range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over multi-clause structures such as conditional and reason-based sentences. However, there are frequent grammatical errors involving article usage, prepositions, verb forms, and subject-verb agreement. Examples of these errors include 'apartments are best way', 'a large number of people after use of limited land', 'a single tall building accommodate', 'build tall apartment blocks helps', and 'they are may no have any transport difficulty to went'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are common enough to prevent the grammar score from rising higher.
