Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt regarding tall apartment blocks by taking a clear stance in agreement, but the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. While you mention relevant points such as the limitation of land, proximity to public infrastructure, and the potential negative impacts on privacy and peace, these points are not sufficiently extended or supported with well-elaborated examples. Furthermore, it is important to note that the response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, falling short of the 250-word count. To reach a higher level, you must ensure you write the full word count and expand each main idea with deeper explanations, specific details, or concrete real-world examples rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark. You attempt to guide the reader through your arguments using transitional phrases like 'On the other Hand' and 'In the final conclusion'. However, the referencing and flow are sometimes mechanical or slightly confusing, such as the abrupt transition in the third paragraph where 'This redirect our government' lacks a clear, cohesive link to the preceding sentence. Paragraphing is used to separate main ideas, but the logical progression between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, focus on making your cohesive devices more natural and ensure that every new sentence clearly builds upon the previous one without causing any confusion for the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common and ambitious lexical items such as 'sacrosanct', 'achelon', 'tormenting', and 'hellscape'. However, there are noticeable vocabulary and spelling errors, such as 'residencial' instead of residential, 'strating' instead of starting, 'higlights' instead of highlights, and 'indiviuals' instead of individuals. Additionally, some word choices and collocations are unnatural or inappropriate in context, like 'terrific way of living' or 'pursuit in toiling away'. These errors cause some difficulty and distraction for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on accurate word formation, correct spelling, and natural collocations while using more precise vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting ambitious structures. However, there is a limited range of grammatical control, and frequent errors appear throughout the text. Examples include severe errors in subject-verb agreement and tense usage, such as 'It has became sacrosanct' and 'people who lives', as well as awkward phrasing in your opening thesis statement 'I personal opinion, i strongly agree on the fact that...'. Punctuation errors are also present, such as comma splices and missing articles. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, you need to pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, verb forms, singular and plural agreements, and ensure that your attempts at complex sentences remain accurate and clear.
