Student answer (Band 4.5)

The crise in the real-estate sector became a major problem for individuals and governments in multiple metropolis, and large percentage of person provide building tall apartment blocks as miracle solution and the best way to give enough homes.

At first, when we look to this solution we can find it appropriate to the the problem but when we try to look a it depply we observe many issues, the most apparent is increasing of the population with the creation of this type of apartment blockes. So we cannot increase the number of houses without increasing the facilities.

in my opinion this solution provides homes and in the other side will create other issues, as not enough transport and schools. and less green spaces.

however, we can find solutions more interesting and adapted without creating more congection, for example instead of build

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your response responds to the task only minimally, as it is severely incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence at 'instead of build'. Furthermore, it falls significantly short of the required minimum word count of 250 words, containing only 141 words. While you attempt to address the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, your ideas remain very limited and under-developed. You touch upon the lack of facilities such as transport, schools, and green spaces, but you fail to extend or fully support these points with detailed explanations or relevant examples. To reach a higher level, you must ensure that you write at least the minimum number of words, complete all your sentences, and fully develop your arguments with clear explanations and supporting evidence throughout a complete essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your text shows some basic attempts at organisation, using transition signals such as 'At first', 'in my opinion', and 'however' to link your thoughts. However, there is no clear overall progression across the piece, and the abrupt ending prevents the essay from reaching a logical conclusion. Paragraphing is also disrupted, with your ideas squeezed together rather than developed in distinct, well-structured paragraphs. Cohesive devices are at times inadequate or repetitive. To improve your coherence and cohesion, you need to structure your writing into a clear introduction, well-supported body paragraphs, and a proper conclusion. Ensure that your sentences flow logically from one to the next and that you avoid unfinished thoughts so the reader can follow your reasoning without confusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary range is limited, though it is minimally adequate to convey some basic meaning. You make noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, such as writing 'crise' instead of 'crisis', 'metropolis' instead of 'metropolises', 'person' instead of 'people', and 'depply' instead of 'deeply'. Additionally, phrases like 'miracle solution' sound unnatural in academic writing. Other errors include 'blockes' and 'congection'. These vocabulary and spelling inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent smoother communication. To achieve a higher score, you should build a wider range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items with greater precision and correct spelling, and pay closer attention to natural collocations and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in complex patterns. There are noticeable mistakes in article usage, plurals, prepositions, and verb forms, such as 'when we look to this solution', 'look a it', and 'instead of build'. Frequent grammatical errors occur throughout the text, which can cause difficulty and strain for the reader trying to understand your meaning. To improve this area, you should work on expanding your grammatical range by incorporating accurate complex sentence structures, ensuring proper subject-verb agreement, and carefully proofreading your work to eliminate basic errors in punctuation, verb tenses, and grammatical patterns.
