Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, several people argue that build tall buildings with many floors is the good way to give enogh residence for people to live in major cities. I partially agree with this statement.
Firstly, the construction of tall buildings with several appartments give residence to more people in limited space.
However, living in congested appartments is difficult for families there are no enogh space to do creative or outdoor activities for enstance gardening or cycling etc.
Morever, the tall building block the pathway of birds as, several birds collide with these buildings and died. Also during the urbanization, animals loss their habitat and it destroy the biodiversity and increase pollution.
Following this, in tall building appartments there are many issues regarding living style for enstance; not enogh water for daily usage, electricity, sui gas and parking. Also, there is not enogh privacy and peace which effects work and mental health. In my personal experince, i live in a small city and in my city houses are spacious having outdoor space like courtyard or garden which give us privacy, peace and enough place to do creative activities as i do painting and journaling in garden and my parents do gardening and we get fresh fruit and vegetables. My maternal family lives in a big city in appartments, whenever i visit there i feel suffocated and face privacy issue. Also the water, electricity problems.
It is concluded that the tall building appartments have few advantages but there are so many disadvantages.so from my perspective build tall appartment blocks to provide enoght homes in large cities is probably the good way but not best way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear, partial position on whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as space-saving benefits, environmental impacts like bird collisions and biodiversity loss, and infrastructure challenges including water and electricity shortages. However, some ideas are under-developed or remain somewhat limited in elaboration. For instance, the points regarding environmental destruction and utility strains are mentioned briefly without deep exploration. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend these arguments with more fully developed explanations and more robust supporting examples rather than relying primarily on a brief personal anecdote.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible progression of ideas, beginning with an introduction that states a clear stance, moving through body paragraphs addressing space, environment, and living issues, and concluding with a summary. Cohesive devices and transition markers such as 'Firstly', 'However', 'Morever', and 'It is concluded that' are used to connect thoughts, though referencing and linking can occasionally feel mechanical or repetitive. Paragraphing is attempted, but the main body of text is clumped together into overly dense sections rather than being clearly divided into distinct topical paragraphs for advantages, environmental concerns, and personal experiences. Improving paragraph structure and diversifying cohesive links would significantly enhance the logical flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating sufficient range to discuss housing and urbanisation. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'urbanization', 'biodiversity', 'suffocated', and 'privacy', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, including repeated misspellings like 'enogh', 'appartments', 'enstance', 'Morever', 'loss' instead of 'lose', and 'experince'. While these lexical shortcomings and spelling mistakes do not entirely impede communication, they restrict the precision and fluency of the writing. Incorporating a wider variety of accurately spelled, sophisticated terms related to urban development and housing would elevate the lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues in 'tall building block' and 'appartments give', incorrect preposition usage, and run-on sentences punctuated improperly, like 'families there are no enogh space' and 'disadvantages.so from my perspective'. These errors occur frequently enough to cause some difficulty for the reader, though they rarely obscure the core meaning completely. To achieve a higher level of accuracy, the student must exercise better control over basic sentence structures, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation conventions.
