Student answer (Band 4.0)

I agree with the statement, i would really like to provide homes in large cities is to build tall apartment block like block A, block B, block C, block 4, and block 5. i prefer to stay in large cities because in the large cities there are so many able to find everything like transport, flight, grocery store, shops, cafes, restaurants, and hotels etc. However, i still want a large build apartment and their every service in room and i want to bedroom, kitchen, hall, dinny room, bathroom, and with balcony. On the other hand, many people such using some agent through find the build apartment in large cities and it's easy to find and than after you can go and see everything in the tall apartment. Nowadays, not as a student are finding a tall build apartment approximately, working people's want tall apartment to live because they have a family and that's why they want this types of block apartment in the large cities. Particularly, i disagree sometime because not everyone could pay this much of apartment amount sometime people's want to live tall apartment but, it's affordable amount not a massive of cost. Eventhough, they are a family's or student's i know they have a reason to live in large cities they want each and everythings sutable in the city. Last but not the least, i would like to stay tall build apartment but affordable amount of cost not massive amount and it is easy for me to find anything because in the large cities everything is available.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally, as the prompt instructions ask for an opinion on whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities. The student touches upon the topic by expressing agreement and mentioning affordability, but the ideas remain very limited and under-developed. Instead of providing well-supported arguments about urban planning, land scarcity, or infrastructure, the writing lapses into repetitive personal preferences and lists like 'block A, block B, block C'. The position is not always clear because the writer also states 'i disagree sometime'. Nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted towards the length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently within the response. The text is presented as a single, dense block of writing without appropriate paragraphing. There is a lack of logical progression, causing the argument to jump abruptly between personal living preferences, how people find apartments, and cost concerns. While some basic cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'However', 'On the other hand', and 'Nowadays', they are used mechanically or inaccurately, which fails to create a clear flow of ideas and makes the text difficult to follow throughout.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms such as 'large cities', 'tall apartment', 'good', and 'amount'. There are noticeable lexical errors, such as 'dinny room' instead of dining room, 'working people's want' instead of working people want, and awkward phrasing like 'this much of apartment amount' and 'massive of cost'. These errors and the restricted vocabulary strain the reader and reflect a limited lexical range appropriate for this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple or poorly connected clauses featuring frequent errors that distort meaning. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, incorrect pronouns like lower-case 'i', awkward tense usage, and missing or incorrect prepositions in patterns such as 'through find' instead of through finding. Punctuation and capitalization are poorly controlled throughout the text, leading to run-on structures that cause frequent difficulty for the reader.
