Student answer (Band 5.0)

The best way to provide enough accomudation in big cities is to build multi story apartments. In my opinion, i largerly agree with this point of view and i will give reasons for that and also include relevant examples from my information.

Firstly, building tall apartment can overcome the indiviuduals needs and also eassy to handel the population. Moreover, it is eassy to buy a house rather then investing lot of money for building own house from scratch. For Example, big cities have own problems such as gass, electricity, pure water etc. When, a huge number of tall apartment build then that can overcome that issue because it's eassy to handle a problems in a single build rather then individual house. As a result, that will help to mantain the people life style and issues.

Secondly, agricultural sector also grow in this development beacuse, when people live separately in the cities so they do not expand there community towards agricultural lands.Nowadays, human population is the big problems all over the world so, it's not good for agricultural sector .For Instance, population grow and community expands to agricultural lands that's alarming for government to balance the food products.

In conclusion, build multi story apartments are benifical for humans and as well as government. As a result, people needs watever they want and for nations it is easy to provide them.

Task Achievement / Task Response5.0
Coherence and Cohesion5.5
Lexical Resource5.0
Grammatical Range and Accuracy5.0
Overall5.0

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task partially, expressing a clear position while developing ideas that remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the writer states that tall apartments can overcome individual needs and handle populations easily, but this point lacks sufficient extension and concrete illustration. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 221 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully develop each supporting argument with detailed examples and ensure the length requirement is satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation present, with attempts to use paragraphing and transition signals such as "Firstly" and "Secondly". However, the overall progression is limited, and cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate, inadequate, or repetitive. For example, referencing is sometimes unclear, and the links between sentences can feel mechanical rather than natural. Paragraphing is visible, but the logical flow within paragraphs often stumbles due to abrupt transitions. To improve, the writer must use a wider range of cohesive devices more accurately and ensure a smoother, more logical progression of ideas throughout the entire text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors, including spelling mistakes such as "accomudation" and "indiviuduals", as well as inaccurate word choices and word forms like "eassy to handel" and "benifical". These errors sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. The range of vocabulary is restricted, relying heavily on basic terms without demonstrating much flexibility. To progress, the writer should build a broader repertoire of less common lexical items, pay closer attention to collocations and word forms, and carefully proofread to eliminate spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple forms, while attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. Frequent grammatical errors occur across the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("tall apartment build"), incorrect prepositions, and awkward phrasing that can cause difficulty for the reader. Punctuation errors are also present, such as missing spaces after periods and commas. To achieve a higher band, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex structures with greater control, reduce the frequency of basic grammatical errors, and ensure accurate punctuation.
