Student answer (Band 5.5)

The good way to make enough homes in large states by build a tall apartment blocks. In my opinion, I agree build a tall apartment blocks.

One major reasonis that, the population is rapidly increasing globaly, so increase in population will increase the need for houses, however there are no individual space left in the large cities or states, so build apartments in the tall building is a good and most convinient method, because it consumes less space then a single house, also multiple houses can be build in the tall building, so goverment can save too much space and in that area they can build a park, healthcare and maybe utility stores.

On the other hand, the second most important reason is that people find it more easier to buy the apartments, also buying apartment will be a future investment because the value of a well known society will boost their prices, If their are some brand near to that apartment blocks increased their value, later on their are security gaurd all 24/7 thats the reason feel more safe to buy the apartments. For instance, near in future in Islamabad there are multiple apartment blocks are constructed by the government because they want to save the precious land of the capital city as well as they cannot compromised with beauty of the city.

In cnclusion, there are multiple benefits by building of apartment blocks such as the increase in the population in the world the government and other land lord has decided to make apartment because it cosumes less land then a single house, also it cannot eradicate the beauty of the city, but it will increase the beauty and the city becomes more modren.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the efficient use of space and the addition of community amenities like parks and healthcare facilities. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the argument regarding land preservation and urban sprawl is touched upon with the example of Islamabad, the second main paragraph contains underdeveloped and slightly repetitive reasoning concerning real estate investment and security guards, which prevents the response from achieving a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The text displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized to separate distinct ideas, such as spatial efficiency versus investment and safety benefits. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. Transitional phrases like 'On the other hand' are misused to introduce a supporting argument rather than a contrasting one. Furthermore, referencing is not always clear, and repetitive phrasing across sentences makes the logical progression feel somewhat disjointed, holding the organization back from achieving clearer progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'precious land', 'future investment', and 'utility stores'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word formation that stem from these attempts, such as writing 'globaly' instead of globally, 'convinient' instead of convenient, and 'land lord' instead of government planners or developers. While these inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score, and spelling mistakes appear at regular intervals throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures are frequently marred by structural errors. There are numerous grammatical inaccuracies involving subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'is that, the population', 'build a tall apartment blocks', 'no individual space left', and 'people find it more easier'. Punctuation is also weak, featuring run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '..., also buying apartment will be a future investment because...'. Nevertheless, the meaning remains mostly discernible despite these recurring errors.
