Student answer (Band 5.0)
The is no denying the fact that the better way to showe more much homes is to build long apartements blocks. While it is a commonly held belief that solution to provide many houses is to add enough tall apartment, there is also an argument that opposes it. In my opinion, I consider that agree with this reason and this point
To begin with, building tall apartment blocks saves valuable land in crowded cities. In other wors, vertical buildings can house thousands of families in a very small geographical area. In addition, this allows workers to live close to their offices, schools, and public transport. For example, in big capital cities, high-rise towers provide modern homes for thousands of workers near the city center.
Another point to consider, high population density in one small area do not puts huge pressure on local roads and electricity networks. it is also possible to say that relying only on tall buildings were not creates severe overcrowding and traffic problems. Moreover, governments should also build fast trains to connect people to affordable houses in suburban areas. For instance, expanding modern train lines allows families to buy bigger homes outside the city and commute easily every day.
In conclusion, despite people having differnet view, I believe that tall apartement blocks is more essential in ou lives

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially and does not meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, stopping short at 220 words. While the writer expresses an opinion on the topic of building tall apartment blocks, the position is not always clearly sustained or fully explained. Ideas are limited and remain under-developed, relying on repetitive points rather than extending them with robust arguments. For instance, the discussion on land-saving and infrastructure touches upon relevant concepts, but these ideas lack sufficient detail and depth. To reach higher bands, the writer must ensure the word count requirement is fully met and provide well-developed, fully supported arguments for all parts of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation with the use of standard paragraph breaks and introductory and concluding remarks, but the text lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent use of basic transitional phrases like 'To begin with' and 'In addition' without seamless integration between ideas. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making the flow somewhat mechanical. For example, sentences in the body paragraphs jump between different thoughts rather than building logically upon one another. To improve, the writer needs to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph develops a single main idea smoothly and logically to guide the reader effortlessly through the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for expressing basic thoughts on the topic. The response contains noticeable word choice, word form, and spelling errors that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'showe', 'much homes', 'apartements', and 'differnet'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'geographical area' and 'population density', but these are accompanied by awkward collocations and inaccuracies. To achieve a higher band score, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire, pay closer attention to word formation and spelling, and use precise vocabulary and natural collocations suited to academic writing tasks without relying on repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, and articles that can cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'The is no denying', 'do not puts', and 'were not creates'. Furthermore, sentence patterns are occasionally broken or ungrammatical, as seen in phrases like 'I consider that agree with this reason'. To progress to higher bands, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining good control over grammar, ensuring that agreements, verb tenses, and sentence boundaries are accurate and clear.
