Student answer (Band 5.0)

The best way to provide enough homes in large cities to build apartment blocks. It is argued by some peoples because tall apartments blocks have less space for the items and also thier is an issue of vantilation.Meanwhile, other argues that it is very best solution for the problem of giving enough large homes. In addition, according to my opinion it is the best way to construct the tall apartments blocks in cities have much spaces.

On the one hand, the peoples who agreed with this statement are on the positive side for example, when there is larger homes which occupies more spaces in the town,It would be very conjusted and the issues they have to face is about parking and traffic and for those peoples whcih can't affort the larger homes in the town. That why the peoples having less income preffered the appartments to live which is very suitable for them.

On the othe hand, the advocte of the few that they required larger homes in the city these peoples are those which have good income resources for thier livings. For exampl, the peoples which are the CEO of thier company cannot live in the appartments because they feel shy about what community said about their living style. For instance, they have some luxuripus cars and need space to park them in thier houses.

However,in my opinion it is the more suitable option to provide more homes to the peoples by constructing the tall apartments in the larger cities where the can live easily. These apartments may be well maintaines and have spaces for the air to be cross and let the fresh air comes in.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, earning a solid foundation at this band level. While the writer attempts to discuss whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities, the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding low-income earners who cannot afford large town houses touches on a relevant point, but it lacks sufficient extension or specific examples. Similarly, the counterargument concerning CEOs feeling shy about their living style is underdeveloped and somewhat unconventional. The position is stated but not always clearly maintained throughout the text. To reach the next level, the writer needs to present fully developed positions with well-supported arguments and relevant, realistic examples for both sides of the debate rather than relying on generalized assumptions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization present in the essay, including paragraph breaks that separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, but overall progression is lacking. The flow between ideas often feels disjointed due to inadequate or repetitive use of cohesive devices, such as 'However,in my opinion' and 'On the othe hand'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the arguments smoothly. For example, the transition between discussing parking issues and low-income preferences is abrupt. To achieve a higher score, the writer must ensure a clear logical progression throughout, utilizing a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices without over-relying on mechanical formulas, and managing paragraphing with greater precision.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. The writer attempts some less common items, such as 'conjusted', 'luxuripus', and 'advocte', but noticeable spelling and word choice errors occur throughout the text. For example, 'peoples' is used incorrectly instead of 'people', and 'vantilation' contains a spelling error. These errors create some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted lexical range. To progress further, the writer should expand their vocabulary range, pay closer attention to word forms and spelling, and demonstrate greater control over collocations and less common lexical items to express ideas with more precision and style.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns with frequent errors. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, such as 'for example, when there is larger homes which occupies more spaces in the town,It would be very conjusted', these attempts are often faulty, featuring issues with subject-verb agreement, missing articles, and incorrect prepositions. Frequent errors in punctuation and tense consistency, such as 'let the fresh air comes in', cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. To move up to the next band, the writer must increase the variety of error-free complex structures, improve control over basic grammar rules like articles and plurals, and ensure punctuation is used correctly.
