Student answer (Band 5.0)
These days, more people are living in urban areas rather then rural areas and large popullation cause living problems, but what is the most effective method for dealing with this is to build apartment blocks to provide enough homes to population. I completely agree and in this essay I will support my opinion with examples.
Firstly, In large cities their is not enough space to live for prople. families who came for cities for better future of their children and for themselves and not have the ability to purchase their own home. Therefore it provide home with in their budget where they can live and enhance their future.
Another reason why agree with with this that it provide safety to the people who is living in those apartments. For instance a person who is living alone in her ground flour home will not fell safe and who is living in apartment of the tall buildind where she can get 24/7 security and camera survilince.
on the other hand some people belive that tall building can.t take earth quicks.
In conclusion i completly agree .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide homes, and you give relevant reasons about limited space, affordability and security. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these points are stated briefly rather than explained or supported with a developed example. The counterpoint about buildings not being able to withstand earthquakes is introduced but not explained or answered, so the extent of your agreement is not fully explored. The response is also 66 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop your argument. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing increases capacity, give a specific example, and respond to the earthquake concern before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic overall structure: an introduction, two supporting points, a counterargument and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Another reason” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of your response. However, progression is limited because the ideas within paragraphs are not clearly connected or fully developed. The sentence beginning “families who came for cities” is difficult to follow, and the earthquake point appears abruptly as a single sentence without a link to your position. Some linking is also repetitive or awkward, such as “Another reason why agree with with this.” Use one clear main idea per paragraph, connect each explanation to the claim, and develop the opposing view before showing why you still agree.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “urban areas,” “purchase their own home,” “security” and “camera surveillance,” so the reader can identify your main points. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-choice and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “popullation,” “prople,” “ground flour home” and “earth quicks.” Phrases such as “provide home with in their budget” and “tall buildind” are also imprecise or incorrectly formed. Aim to use accurate topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “housing demand,” “affordable accommodation” and “earthquake-resistant construction” would help you explain the issue more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and connectors, for example in the opening sentence and the explanation beginning “Therefore.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “large popullation cause” and “it provide safety,” while “families who came for cities … and not have the ability” lacks a clear, correctly formed main clause. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “In large cities their is” and the lower-case start of “on the other hand.” These problems sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then join them with subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
