Student answer (Band 5.5)
Recently, due to rapid increase in urbon population, we are experiencing home crises in developed cities. Experts suggesting of constructing high rise building to accommodate such people. And i totally agree with the statement, two arguments for the agreement are explaned bellow along with the conclusion.
In order to provide homes in big cities without compromising the land, the only possible and practicle way is to construct the haigh rise apartments. first of all in most of the urbon areas we dont have anough land to build homes for indivisial and on top of that indivisual themselves cannot afford to live alone or build or buy a house on ground. The only way left is buildings where more people can be accommodate and is more cheap as compare to living on ground. Recently, i personally shifted from Peshawar to Islamabad and what i found is the rents are significantly high on indivisual flates/houses as compare to in tall apartments. In a nutshell, my view is that the move towards apartment culture is gradually incresing in cities.
In addition to this, another reason is that these days almost all cities are interconnected to each others, what people doing is their jobs are in one city and they live in another, and this traveling back and forth are costing the indivisuals a lot, not only finencially but also wasting their time, and the reason behind this is the un availibility of the houses in the more developed cities. in order to takle this issue government should focus on the apartment culture and this should be normalise.
It can be concluded that, tall apartments are the need of the time in urbon areas as more people are migrating into the cities, and we should focus on providing as much facilities as we can.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”), and you give relevant reasons: limited urban land, the relative affordability of apartments, and the costs of commuting from other cities. The personal comparison between rents in Peshawar and Islamabad also helps make the argument concrete. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The commuting point is asserted, but the link between building tall blocks and reducing travel is not fully explained; for example, explain how more homes near jobs would shorten journeys. The claim that this is the “only possible” approach is also too absolute without considering alternatives. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and supporting example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “first of all” and “in addition,” and a concluding summary. This gives the reader an overall sense of progression. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph moves from cities being interconnected to people commuting, then to housing shortages, without clearly showing how these points support tall apartment blocks. Several sentences also contain many linked ideas, making the relationships harder to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide long chains of ideas into shorter sentences. Make references such as “this issue” explicit, and ensure each paragraph develops one main reason in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “urban population,” “high rise,” “accommodate,” “rents,” and “migrating,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable, such as “home crises,” “apartment culture,” “un availability,” and “finencially.” Repeated use of “people,” “cities,” and “houses” also limits precision. Aim to use more natural combinations and accurate forms—for example, “housing shortage” and “housing availability”—and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help explain the relationship between housing supply, affordability, and commuting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “In order to” and “what people doing is,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate. For example, “Experts suggesting” needs a finite verb (“Experts suggest”), while “what people doing is their jobs are in one city” needs substantial restructuring. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “more people can be accommodate” and “the rents are significantly high on individual flats.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete clause.
