Student answer (Band 5.5)

IN large cities there is a large problem to managing homes, i am totally agree what that statement that build tall apartment is a better way to provide enough home .

firstly it is a large problem to providing home in big cities , because in larger cities people face challanges to finding land for their home it is better to build large appartment in cities where people face problem, by build large apartment it help people to buy home in cheap rates. also save construction cost which is to muvh high in now a days .

secondly it is easier to get all facilities such as gas , water , gym, electricity ,public transport, clean roads, proper appartment management team in one place ,people get friendly environment also middle class famlies like to buy appartments more than to built their own home because when more famlies live in one apartment so cost of that appertment attomatically get low also tall apartment help to manag e the sortage of land example: if a tall building has 20 floors and have 100 houses so 100 families live in one big appartment on the otherside if these 100 familes are going to build their own home thay need 100 different plots in bg cities which is harder to find .

in the end , although tall buildings have some drawbacks but i believe that the most easier or convinient way to manage providing home in small place is by building large apartments

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment blocks as a way to provide homes in large cities. You give relevant reasons, including limited land, lower costs, access to shared facilities, and the contrast between housing 100 families in one building and needing 100 separate plots. This example helps explain your central argument. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the claim that apartments make homes cheaper could be supported with a clearer explanation of how shared construction or land costs reduce prices. The response addresses the question, but the discussion of possible drawbacks is only briefly acknowledged in the conclusion. Develop each main reason more fully and explain why it makes tall blocks the best solution.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding statement. Sequencing words such as “firstly,” “secondly,” and “in the end” help signal this progression. The ideas within the second body paragraph, especially the facilities, affordability, and land-use example, are relevant but crowded together, so the relationship between them is not always easy to follow. Some linking is also mechanical, and the long sentence beginning “if a tall building has 20 floors” would be clearer if divided into shorter sentences. Organise each paragraph around one main point, use clearer transitions between supporting details, and make references such as “that statement” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to housing and urban development, including “construction cost,” “public transport,” “middle class families,” and “shortage of land.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “large,” “home,” and “apartment.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “challanges,” “appartment,” “muvh,” and “convinient,” which reduce accuracy and sometimes make the reader pause. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “manage homes” and “cheap rates.” Build a more precise range of housing-related expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a comparison between apartment living and building separate homes. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “i am totally agree what that statement” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “by build large apartment it help people” lacks a correctly formed introductory phrase and subject–verb agreement. The long comparison beginning “if a tall building has 20 floors” also needs clearer sentence boundaries and punctuation. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences with correctly formed subordinate clauses and consistent punctuation.
