Student answer (Band 6.0)

Constructing apartments one on top of other is the most feasible method to meet the rising demand of homes for the growing population of big cities. I completely agree with this strategy of compensating population in cities.

Large cities are often less spacious. Most of the area in such cities is occupied by indusrial and commercial buildings. Their population is large since everyone tries to move to large citites for better opputunities. In order to fullfill the home demands for the population without making the city more less spacious, the building of tall apartment blocks framework seems to work efficiently well. Adopting this framework rather than building two or three stories separate homes, saves alot of space which can be utilised for natural beautification such as growing trees and making recreational green areas where people from their apartments can come out and enjoy fresh air.

Cities in the world are already using this framework, such as my aunt and her family bought a property in London and they were to built a magnificient home but then they came to know that its not permissible to build a building on entire piece of property, and can build only on a specified meter squared area then they can build as many apartments as they want on top of that area, the rest of the piece of land would be used for growing greenery.

In conclusion, to provide sufficient homes for people in large cities, building tall apartment blocks is the suitable model. Occupying land with independent ground homes will make already crowded cities more suffocated, and may not leave any space for corporate buildings which are also necessary in modern world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the most feasible way to meet housing demand. You give relevant reasons, especially that high-rise construction uses less land and can leave room for green areas, and you include a personal example involving property rules in London. These points address the question and support your view. However, the London example is difficult to follow and does not clearly show how apartment blocks provide more homes; the claim about preserving space for corporate buildings is also introduced only in the conclusion. Develop these points with clearer explanation and a more specific example to make the argument more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present reasons and an example, and the conclusion restates your position. The progression from limited urban land to the space-saving benefits of apartments is generally logical. Some connections, however, are unclear or mechanical. For example, the London anecdote moves from building a home to planning rules and then to greenery without clearly explaining the relationship between these details. The phrase “Their population is large” also has an unclear reference, and the final point about corporate buildings appears abruptly. Use clearer referencing and link each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “rising demand,” “commercial buildings,” “recreational green areas,” and “sufficient homes.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “feasible method” and “specified meter squared area.” However, noticeable spelling errors and unnatural word combinations reduce precision: “indusrial,” “citites,” “oppurtunities,” and “fullfill” are examples, while “compensating population” and “work efficiently well” are not natural expressions in this context. Some wording is also imprecise, such as “framework” for a building approach. Check spelling carefully and choose collocations that express your meaning directly; this will make your vocabulary more accurate and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a complex explanation beginning “In order to…” and a longer sentence describing the London example. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas harder to follow. For instance, “the building of tall apartment blocks framework seems” has an unclear noun structure, and “they were to built” uses an incorrect verb form. In “can build only on a specified… area then they can build,” the clauses need clearer punctuation and grammatical linking. Review verb patterns, articles, and sentence boundaries, and break up the long anecdotal sentence. More consistently controlled complex sentences would strengthen the response.
