Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant reasons: they can make cities appear modern, create construction jobs, and provide homes for people moving from rural areas. However, the response addresses the question only partially. These points are briefly mentioned rather than explained or supported with examples, and there is no consideration of possible limitations or why this is the best way to meet housing needs. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to fully answer the task. To strengthen your response, explain each reason, add a specific example, and make your position and supporting argument clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: you introduce your opinion and then begin a supporting paragraph with “First of all.” “Moreover” and “also” help signal additional points, so the reader can follow the general direction of your argument. However, the response has no developed overall progression or conclusion, and the ideas are crowded into one paragraph rather than separated into clear stages. The links between points are also limited; for example, the connection between modern-looking cities and providing enough homes is not explained. Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for distinct reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas, not simply to add another point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “population,” “constructing,” “employment,” and “homes,” which makes the subject clear. There is also an attempt to use more specific vocabulary, such as “infrastructure” and “developed.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms are inaccurate, including “kinda infrastructer,” “pirticular people,” and “in searching for a jobs.” These errors make parts of the response less clear and reduce the precision of your argument. Aim to use accurate housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, describe “high-rise apartment buildings,” “housing demand,” and people who “move from rural areas to cities in search of work.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You communicate your main opinion and attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “Moreover” and “who move from country side to cities.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in basic grammar occur frequently. Examples include “i am agree,” “it provide,” and “is not just provide,” where the verb forms or agreement are incorrect. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “a jobs” and “tall apartment block.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly the lowercase “i” and the long opening sentence. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “which.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries when proofreading.
