Student answer (Band 5.0)
A section of society believes that to provide homes to the people in top tier cities is to construct high story apartment. However, i completely agree with this statement.
One of the most convincing reasons behind my agreement is that most of the large cities does not have enough land to build tall buildigs. These cities usually offers numerous opportunities, as it is has large infrastructure, multinational industries and so on. Therefore, it is quite difficult to establish tenements. Moreover, people residing in the big cities ask for luxurious and comfortable life, so providing service to the people is neccessary. The governance provide service or facilities for the people, so that every individuals can enjoy the experience to live in these places.Due to this reason it is hard for the government to build top story buildings.
On the other hand, some people argue that this apartment does not come with unique design or infrastructure, it boring to live in. In their opinion tenements can be constructed as per their choice, and also the one can design they way they desire. Though, it is much expensive as compare to apartments. Furthermore, the tenements have a huge amount ofto space and comfort. People living in tenemants usually feel comfortable as it offer extra area infront of the house where people develop beautiful garden, and cultivate plants, and trees. Also it has backyard which has resting section, swmming pool section, and also some space to play outdoor sports.
To conclude, I strongly stand with the view that developing apartment blocks is the best option people can get in the developed cities not only because it lack the availability of a land but also because it has many work opportunities, high standard lifestyle, and comfortness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you say you “completely agree” that apartment blocks are the best option. You also introduce a relevant counterargument about the space, gardens and facilities available in houses. However, the main support does not consistently explain why tall blocks provide enough homes. For example, the claim that large cities “does not have enough land to build tall buildings” appears to contradict your position; limited land could instead be used to explain why building upwards is beneficial. The discussion of services and lifestyle is also difficult to connect to the housing argument. Develop a few relevant reasons more fully, and explain how each supports your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal stages in the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear: the first body paragraph moves from land availability to city opportunities, services and residents’ lifestyles without showing how these points connect to tall apartment blocks. The contrast paragraph gives several details about houses, but the relationship between these examples and the central question could be clearer. Some connections are also awkward or repetitive. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “multinational industries,” “infrastructure,” “tenements” and “outdoor sports,” and you use some descriptive language about gardens and facilities. However, the range is limited by repeated or inaccurate choices that sometimes make the meaning unclear. “Top tier cities” and “top story buildings” are not natural ways to express the intended ideas, while “comfortness” and “huge amount ofto space” are problematic forms. Spelling errors such as “buildigs,” “neccessary” and “swmming” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “high-rise apartment blocks” consistently and distinguish clearly between apartments and houses.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences with reasons and contrast, such as “Though, it is much expensive as compare to apartments.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and punctuation occur frequently. Examples include “most of the large cities does not have,” “These cities usually offers,” and “the governance provide.” The sentence beginning “In their opinion” also has an unclear structure, and “places.Due” needs a space and clearer punctuation. These errors can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from accurate clauses, checking each sentence for a clear subject, verb and punctuation.
