Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this day and age, The effective way to provide housing for more people in metro cities is to construct high rise buildings.I strongly agree with this view point because it has various merits that outweigh its demerits.
in this era ,everyone wants to move towards urban areas for their employment and this has create a population explosion in metropolis which leads to housing problems. Tall apartments are one of the solution for these problems because it not only save land but also provide residence to large number of people in small area and their construction is easy and budget friendly and these types of buildings can be constructed in lesser period of time in this way a group of people get houses.
In addition to this, construction of a new house from ground level requires more land, money and labour and only a single family or two families can live in that however a large number families can live in apartments and remaining land can be used for other essential construction like schools, hospitals, parks which indeed beneficial for the society. In these apartments people live together and it develops harmony and cordial relationship between them which is not possible in single stroyed houses because a large number of population is working in urban areas and there is no time to meet their neighbours.
To conclude, i think that it is essential that tall apartments must be constructed in metro cities it not only saves time and money but the remaining land can be utilized for other purposes such as schools, colleges ,parks and hospitals thus it also helpful for the growth of the country and mankind.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that high-rise housing is an effective response to urban demand. You give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, accommodating more residents, and freeing space for schools, hospitals and parks. The conclusion also restates your view. This meets the task well, and the examples of possible community benefits help support your argument. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained: for instance, saying construction is “easy and budget friendly” would be more convincing with a reason or example. The point about apartments fostering harmony is also less fully developed and does not directly establish that they are the best way to provide enough homes. Further qualification or support would make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from urban population growth to the advantages of apartments, and phrases such as “In addition to this” and “To conclude” make the stages easy to follow. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. However, the first body paragraph contains several benefits in one long sequence, so the relationships between them are not always clear. Some linking is also mechanical, and references such as “these problems” and “that” could be more precise. Separate the main points into clearer sentences and use transitions that show the exact relationship between ideas; this would make the progression smoother and more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “population explosion,” “housing problems,” “remaining land,” and “essential construction.” These choices help communicate the central argument, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “metro cities,” “view point,” “provide residence,” and “lesser period of time.” There is also repetition of basic terms such as “people,” “land,” and “construction,” which limits flexibility. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and vary repeated vocabulary—for example, use “major cities,” “accommodation,” or “a shorter construction period” where appropriate. More consistent control of spelling and word forms would also strengthen the overall impression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “which leads to housing problems.” This shows some range, and the main ideas can usually be understood. However, control is uneven: errors in agreement, articles, plurals and verb forms recur, as in “this has create,” “one of the solution,” and “it not only save land.” Several sentences are also joined into long chains, making punctuation and sentence boundaries difficult to manage. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and divide long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these patterns, alongside your attempts at complex sentences, would make the argument easier to read.
