Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this concurrent world, it is undoubtedly true that the best way to provide enough homes in larger cities is to build tall apartment blocks. Some people concern that its the only way to accommodate multiple people in a city. However, I quibble from them and profound that this can cause significant number of problems for people with bigger family so there could be better alternatives to provide enough room for citizens. In this eassy I will further elaborate my reasons.
There are adequate evidence of this view that living in tall apartment blocks in not convinient for many people.Firstly, a family with more than 5 members may struggle to adjust in mini apartments. Secondly, many people prefer to live on ground floors due to their critical health issues, for instance, a person with claustrophobia or height phobia would never like to live on block that is located on 5th or 6th floor. The fear of getting stuck in a lift or falling from height is frightening. Similary, people with disability may not be able to reach their home easily. Therefore it is clear that making tall buildings to make space for population is not the only best way.
However, introducing new living societies or expanding sectors where people are already living could be potential solution alternative to this situation. For example in Islamabad, number of citizens are increasing day by day and to provide them with home, CDA and Governamnet has introduced socities like B17, H13 etc. This way more people can buy themselves a home and property where they can live peacefully without adjusting them in a small apartment.
In conclusion, I reiterate that there are plenty of strong factors supporting the fact that building tall apartment blocks may not be suitable solution to make room for people. Organizations can make better plans to accomodate their citizens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear overall: you disagree that tall apartment blocks are the best solution, and you offer alternatives through expanding residential areas. The points about larger families, health-related preferences, and accessibility are relevant, while the Islamabad example gives the response a concrete local reference. However, the argument is only partly developed. The discussion of people with disabilities and those with phobias is asserted rather than supported, and the alternative of expanding existing sectors is not compared in detail with high-rise construction. To strengthen the response, explain the practical benefits and limitations of each approach and make your degree of disagreement explicit in the conclusion. The length requirement is met; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting concerns and an alternative, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Nevertheless, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the opening body paragraph moves from family size to phobias and disability without explaining how these points collectively support the argument. The phrase “Therefore it is clear” also repeats the conclusion rather than advancing the reasoning. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and develop the comparison between apartment blocks and new residential areas more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “accommodate,” “claustrophobia,” “disability,” and “residential societies,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “people,” “home,” and “make,” and several inaccurate choices or collocations make the writing less natural. For instance, “I quibble from them” does not express disagreement appropriately, while “profound that” and “potential solution alternative” are unclear. Spelling errors such as “convinient,” “eassy,” and “Governamnet” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate phrases for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations carefully so that your intended meaning is consistently easy to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some attempts at longer structures, such as the sentence beginning “However, introducing new living societies…” and the example introduced by “for instance.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “Some people concern that its the only way,” where the clause structure and pronoun form are incorrect, and “There are adequate evidence,” which has a subject–verb agreement and countability problem. In “a person with claustrophobia or height phobia would never like to live on block,” the article and sentence construction need attention. Practise accurate clause formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
