Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people think making many homes in large cities is beneficial while some think that we have to build a large amount of big apartments. In this essay we will discuss both sides rather this thing have a positive impact or a negative impact.
Firstly, I would like to say that building a huge amount of houses in a well develop cities is a great idea as compare to making apartments blocks because we can do any thing in our house easily we don't have to be worried about any one like anyone will be disturb. For example, someone is living in a own house will not think too much to do diffrent activities suchas, arranging birthday events or arranging wedding ceremony. We can manage this types of events in our house easily. However, majority of people want homes in society beacuse they can decorate homes easily there will be no issue of privacy overthere. For instance, Family living in homes are more comfortable because no one is crossing their mainn door in a continue way.
Secondly, The most important point why i am not agree with bulding big apartment block is that not every family have a young members in their family. Some people have a old persons in their families so old people cannot manage to go out upstairs daily if they don't have a lift option in apartments then it will be very difficult for them to live in apartments.
In conclusion, I would like to say that making apartments in develop cities is a bad idea. If we want people to live in our city then we have to build a more houses as compare to the apartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view in the conclusion: you consider apartment blocks a bad idea and favour houses. The examples about hosting celebrations and older residents also relate to housing choices. However, the response only partly addresses the question because it does not explain whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. Much of the first body paragraph discusses privacy and activities in houses, rather than comparing how many homes different building types can provide. The point about older people is relevant but remains narrow and assumes apartments lack lifts. Develop the argument by weighing land use, housing supply, affordability and accessibility, and support your position with specific reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the basic structure visible. However, progression is limited: the first paragraph moves between houses, apartments, privacy and social events without clearly linking these points to the central question of providing enough homes. The opening promises to discuss “both sides,” but the essay mainly argues against apartment blocks. Some references are unclear, including “this thing” and “this types of events,” while repeated use of “For example” and “For instance” makes cohesion mechanical. Organise each paragraph around one relevant claim, explain its connection to housing supply, and use clearer referencing and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “homes,” “apartments,” “privacy,” “families” and “lift,” so the general subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which limits how clearly you can express comparisons and housing-related arguments. Phrases such as “a huge amount of houses,” “well develop cities” and “a bad idea” are either inaccurate or too general for the task. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, for example “diffrent,” “beacuse” and “bulding.” Aim to use more precise terms for density, land use and accessibility, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses with “because,” “if” and “so,” showing an effort to connect ideas. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “majority of people want homes” and “not every family have,” while “someone is living in a own house” has problems with article use and sentence structure. Other examples include “old people cannot manage to go out upstairs daily” and the run-on construction beginning “If we want people to live in our city.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with controlled clauses and consistent punctuation.
