Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days it is widely believed that buildings, high rise apartments is the best way to provide enough homes in metropolitan areas. I completely agree with this statement because, increasing in the population of urban areas are causing housing crises in recent days. Some of the details on this issue is below.
The main reason I agree with the statement that "best way to tackle the issue of housing crises in big cities is to construct tall apartments" is, in recent era the urban population is increasing dramatically because, more people are migrating from rural areas and small cities to large cities for better lifestyle and opportunities. As a result, developing cities are facing issues in providing proper living spaces to individuals. For Example, in Karachi, as more people are shifting to karachi from other cities of Pakistan, the population of Karachi climbed rapidly in recent years and we can see more high rise building to overcome this problem, but not enough.
Another important reason is, in most of the active cities we dont have enough free land to utilize these new individuals, and also living in flats on ground is way more expensive than living in tall buildings. I will give u an example from my own experience, I personally shifted from Peshawar to Islamabad for better career opportunities and what i observed that the rents are significantly high if u rent-out a house on ground as compare to an apartment in a building. so high rise buildings are way more affordable to new people who recently migrated to cities.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that, high rise buildings and apartments is one of the best way to accomodate more people, Although it is not the only solution for this issue. Therefore, government and organizations should consider all other solutions as well to deal with the extra population in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear throughout: you completely agree that tall apartment buildings are an effective way to provide homes in large cities. You address the question with two relevant reasons—urban migration increases demand, and apartments can be more affordable where land is scarce—and support them with examples from Karachi and your move to Islamabad. This gives the response a clear, relevant argument. To strengthen the development further, explain more precisely how high-rise construction increases the number of homes on limited land, and qualify broad claims such as ground-level homes being more expensive. Your conclusion briefly acknowledges that this is not the only solution, but could explain what other approaches might complement it. The response meets the stated length requirement; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Its progression from rising demand to land scarcity and affordability is logical, and phrases such as “As a result” and “Another important reason” help signal relationships between ideas. This is a coherent overall arrangement. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward: “Some of the details on this issue is below” does not smoothly introduce the argument, and repeated references to “the issue” and “this problem” are not always precise. The examples also take up substantial space without always being clearly tied back to the main claim. Use more natural transitions and make each paragraph’s final sentence explicitly connect its evidence to the benefits of building upward.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “urban population,” “housing crises,” “migrating,” “living spaces,” and “career opportunities,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “high rise buildings” and “accommodate more people.” However, the range and control are uneven, with repeated general terms such as “people,” “cities,” and “problem,” and several inaccurate or informal choices: “better lifestyle,” “active cities,” “free land to utilize these new individuals,” and “rent-out a house on ground.” Informal forms such as “u” also do not suit an academic essay. Aim for precise collocations and a consistently formal register; this will make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result” and a relative clause beginning “who recently migrated to cities.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in sentence construction and agreement recur. For example, “buildings, high rise apartments is” has a mismatch between subject and verb, while “increasing in the population … are causing” is an awkward and faulty construction. Other examples include “Some of the details … is below” and “apartments is one of the best way.” Commas also interrupt clauses unnecessarily, particularly after “because” and “believe that.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and punctuating complete clauses before adding more complex structures.
