Student answer (Band 5.0)

The most useful way to accomodate large number of houses in mega cities is by building taller apartments. I strongly agree with the statement and rhere are number of reasons behind my belief.

The first and foremost reason is to save trees and envoironment. Building high rise buldings can decrease the number of detached houses and bunglows. Because of that we need small space. Nowadays, to build detached houses it is very common to cut trees. For example recently in Delhi to accomodate large number of people or to build more houses government ordered to cut large numbers of mangrove trees. As we all know the importance of having jungle in our life that is very sad to hear those kind of news. With the increasing number of people who wants to live in mega cities it is quite difficult to manage. In order to provide accomodatio high rise buildings is the most useful way.

Another reason is cost of living. Compare to bunglows apartments are more cheaper. And also the cost of maintaning apartmet is lower. In raw houses people need to pay more property taxes, electricity bills and all that. while in flats that is cheape

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that taller apartment buildings are an effective way to house people in large cities. You give two relevant reasons—protecting trees by reducing the need for detached homes, and lower costs—and the Delhi example helps illustrate the environmental point. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both reasons are briefly stated rather than fully explained, and the second point is cut off before its explanation is complete. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop your argument or provide a complete conclusion. To strengthen it, explain how high-rise housing accommodates more residents on less land, develop the cost comparison, and finish with a clear concluding statement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic overall structure: an introduction states your view, followed by paragraphs presenting two reasons. Linking phrases such as “The first and foremost reason” and “Another reason” help readers recognise the main points. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from tree loss to population growth without clearly connecting each step, while the second ends abruptly at “that is cheape,” leaving the comparison unfinished. Some connections are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Because of that” and “For example.” Organise each body paragraph around one claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence. Complete the final paragraph and use a conclusion to bring the argument together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “high rise buildings,” “detached houses,” “mangrove trees,” and “property taxes,” which makes your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “accomodate,” “envoironment,” “buldings,” and “maintaning.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “large number of houses in mega cities” and “the importance of having jungle in our life.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Build a more accurate range of housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations carefully. Prefer precise phrases such as “accommodate a growing urban population” and “green spaces.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “Because of that we need small space” and the sentence beginning “With the increasing number of people,” but most structures are simple, and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in agreement and sentence construction include “people who wants to live” and the fragment “Because of that we need small space.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, and comparison forms, as in “a number of reasons,” “large number of people,” and “more cheaper.” The final sentence is incomplete, which further affects clarity. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and use one clear comparison structure, such as “apartments are cheaper than bungalows.” Vary sentence patterns while checking each sentence for completeness.
