Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern era, due to increasing number of population in a country the better way to provide much homes in urban area is to build tall apartments blocks. Although I agree with this statement because it helps to conserve green spaces and people get a lot of facilities near their homes.

One of the major reason for my approval to this statement is saving green space. To elaborate, building tall apartments in a city area provides homes to many people without any cutting of forests and turned the farmlands into concrete. In a single building about 100+ families can live in a apartments. Which helps to save space for upcoming generation and takes fresh oxygen by protecting the forests. For instance, nowadays government are been cutting the forests to provide privates houses and factories spaces to people, but authorities are aware now by damaging the nature. As a result, more spaces will remain for upcoming generation.

The second major reason for my agreement too this view point is the availbility of facilities. This means that living in a city area has many facilities to be enjoyed by the people. People can go to their work in short time and they can recieve their products at their door step in short period of time. Therefore, it is more easy to go for a work or recieving parcels.

To conclude, I believe that constructing tall apartments can provide many benefits to ecosystem and to societies people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide homes, and you give two relevant reasons—protecting green space and access to city facilities. However, the support is uneven and some claims need clearer explanation. The point about forests and farmland is relevant, but the example about governments cutting forests for private houses and factories does not directly show how apartment blocks solve this problem. The facilities paragraph is also brief and focuses on convenience rather than explaining how this helps meet housing needs. The response is five words below the required minimum, and this limits the space available to develop your reasons. Explain each link more fully and add a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “One of the major reason” and “The second major reason” helps readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always smooth. For example, “In a single building about 100+ families can live in a apartments. Which helps…” separates a supporting idea into a fragment, while the link between forest protection and “fresh oxygen” is not clearly explained. The conclusion repeats the general position without drawing the two reasons together. Use complete sentences, connect examples explicitly to your claims, and vary transitions to make the argument flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “green spaces,” “farmlands,” “facilities,” and “ecosystem,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There is some attempt to use more specific language, but word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable. Phrases such as “much homes,” “takes fresh oxygen,” and “societies people” are unnatural or unclear, while “availbility,” “recieve,” and “privates” contain spelling or word-form errors. Repetition of “people,” “spaces,” and “facilities” also limits variety. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe residents as having access to services rather than saying facilities are “enjoyed.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession with “Although” and explanations introduced by “To elaborate” and “This means.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “Although I agree with this statement because…” is an incomplete or awkwardly joined opening, and “Which helps to save space” is a sentence fragment. Other examples include “government are” and “in a apartments.” Try combining related ideas into complete sentences and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms. More accurate control of these basic patterns would make your argument easier to follow.
