Student answer (Band 4.5)

In big cities, most of the peoples live there. Every person wants to get home and privacy to lives a better life. I am not fully agreed with it but at the time i agreed it.

Nowdays, peoplesgo to big cities for educational purpose or doing some jobs. They wants to live in a pieceful place. They preffred a sepreate home for live, so they find home and bought it or pay rent. In today's world, life is very difficuilt and tough. In apartment blocks people can not live a peacefull life there with their family. In blocks the rent is afffordable but the facilities are not good as compared to the home. In big cities every type of person lives there. You are not recognized him early. I think homes are much enogh it is the best way to provide peoples.

The other thing is that if a single person only live in big city home is very highly cost for him so the appartement block is much better. Appartments are best for single person because it is affordable.

I give my experience with prove. Imagine if a student is only live in a big city or any person who do his job the apartement block is much better for him. However if person lives with their family all purpose home is better because all necessary things are provided in homes. That is why both are necessary in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a partly clear position: “I am not fully agreed with it” and later explain that apartments suit single people, while family homes may be preferable for families. These points are relevant, but the response does not fully answer whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The claim that “homes are much enogh” is unclear, and the discussion shifts between apartments and homes without explaining how either option increases housing supply. The examples are hypothetical rather than developed evidence. The response is also 9 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, state your degree of agreement clearly, explain the benefits and limitations of building upwards, and support each main point with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into paragraphs, and linking expressions such as “The other thing,” “However,” and “That is why” show how you intend to connect points. The overall progression is difficult to follow, however: the first paragraph gives a position, the next moves between privacy, rent, facilities, and safety, and the final paragraph introduces a different comparison between single people and families. Some connections are unclear, particularly “I think homes are much enogh it is the best way to provide peoples.” Use one paragraph to explain your position and another for each main reason, with a clear topic sentence and supporting explanation. More precise referencing and fewer abrupt transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to housing and city life, including “rent,” “affordable,” “privacy,” “facilities,” and “family.” This gives the reader some access to your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear, such as “get home,” “provide peoples,” and “all purpose home.” Spelling errors, including “Nowdays,” “pieceful,” and “appartement,” also reduce accuracy. Try to use more precise terms for the issue, such as housing supply, high-rise apartments, and residential space, and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of topic-specific phrases will help you express comparisons and reasons more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “however,” for example, “if a single person only live in big city home is very highly cost for him.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the sentence structures are often faulty and can make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Errors include subject–verb agreement (“They wants”), verb forms (“to lives” and “only live”), missing or incorrect articles (“in big city”), and sentence boundaries. The response relies heavily on simple patterns, with limited accurate control of complex sentences. Practise building clear subject–verb sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; proofread especially for agreement, articles, and verb forms.
