Student answer (Band 6.0)
In increasing population in large cities the best way to provide the homes is construction of high rise apartments in city. If questioned, i agree with this notion to a major extent. My inclination is justified in ensuring write-up with appropriate example.
There are several arguments to support my stand. The Most pivotal one is that, there are plenty of people comming to cities for employment and compare to that there is not much space left in cities to accomodate them in cities. construction of large apartment consume less area of city and many people can live in togather without consume any larger space in city. That means people do not have to outskirts of cities for houses.
Furthermore, development of apartments also makes the houses more affordable then a private house or single house to buy in a large city which cost a fortune. for instance, a apartment cost approximately a $60,000-$100,000. Whereas, a single house cost around $400,000 in morden cities. Moreover, the apartment also consume less space and provides houses for a lot of individuals. It also reduces the spreading of city to neighbouring city. Goverments also provides homes in apartments for people below poverty line to reduces slum areas in city.
Nevertheless, I would not overlook the opposite side too. To begin with, providing large apartments in area could lead to congestion in public transport and traffic on roads could be a problem. In other words, the providing number of homes in a area creat more traffic than usual and public facility can also be flooded by people like parks, public hospital and metros.
To reiterate, although construction of apartment have congestion problem. At the same time they have a significant advantages like consuming less area and reducing the cost of houses and people should not have to move towards outskirts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree to a major extent, and the conclusion restates the benefits of apartment construction while acknowledging congestion. You address the main issue with relevant reasons, including limited urban land, affordability, and the risk of pressure on transport and public facilities. The price comparison and reference to government housing add support. However, some claims are asserted rather than fully explained—for example, the figures for apartment and house prices are not tied to a specific city or source, and the point about reducing slums needs a clearer explanation. Develop each reason with a more precise example or explanation to make the support consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterargument, and a conclusion. The progression from land scarcity to affordability and then congestion is generally logical, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Nevertheless,” and “To reiterate” help readers follow the argument. This gives the essay a coherent overall arrangement. However, some links are mechanical or unclear: “That means people do not have to outskirts” does not clearly express the relationship, and the final paragraph repeats earlier benefits without synthesising the discussion. Paragraph development would also be stronger if each paragraph focused on one main point and explained how its examples support your position. Use referencing and transitions more precisely to improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “high rise apartments,” “congestion,” “public transport,” and “affordable,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “pivotal” and “inclination.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “city,” “people,” and “houses,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural combinations: “consume less area,” “live in together,” and “reduces the spreading of city.” Spelling errors such as “comming,” “accomodate,” and “Goverments” are noticeable and weaken precision. Build a more accurate range of collocations for housing and urban planning, and proofread spelling and word forms so your vocabulary communicates ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession beginning “although” and a contrast introduced by “Whereas.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur across sentence structures, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “construction of large apartment consume” needs a plural subject or a singular verb, while “a apartment” requires the correct article. The sentence “people do not have to outskirts” is missing a grammatical construction, and “although construction of apartment have congestion problem” has several agreement and article problems. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “The Most pivotal one” and the sentence beginning “for instance.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build complex sentences while checking subject–verb agreement and articles.
