Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the topic of housing in large cities and appear to support tall apartment buildings, mentioning affordability, family accommodation and access to services. However, your position is not clearly stated: “i am going to dicuss agress statement on it” does not tell the reader how far you agree. The response also gives only brief, general points, with no specific example or explanation of how high-rise construction would provide enough homes. The required minimum length is not met, so the argument remains substantially incomplete and does not address the task in sufficient depth. State your position directly, then develop each reason with explanation and a relevant example before considering any limitation or alternative.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces urban housing, and the following paragraph gives reasons for apartment blocks. Some linking is attempted with “In contrast,” “So” and “while.” However, the progression is difficult to follow because the relationship between ideas is unclear; “In contrast” does not introduce an opposing point, and the final “while” clause is left incomplete. The response has no developed conclusion, and several ideas are placed together without clear connections. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each supporting reason and a conclusion, and choose linking expressions that accurately show whether you are adding, contrasting or explaining an idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “cities,” “homes,” “government,” “financial debt” and “services,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “smart cities” and “accessibility.” However, the range is limited, and inaccurate spelling or word choice sometimes makes meaning difficult to interpret: “larges cities,” “tall build,” “fullfill their standards” and “so many accessibility” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “give financial debt.” Build a more precise set of housing terms and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe apartment blocks as “high-rise buildings” and explain whether they make housing “more affordable” or increase “housing supply.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to connect clauses, as in “people are moving into the cities …, they also want enough homes.” These attempts are not consistently controlled: this example joins two independent clauses with only a comma, while “while people get so many accessibility other services” is incomplete. Other errors include missing or inconsistent articles and agreement, as in “Tall building have constructing,” and unclear verb forms in “it is give financial debt.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and a full stop separated from the preceding sentence. Practise complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, then use a wider range of correctly joined clauses.
