Student answer (Band 5.5)

The large cities ,where the most of land are covered with the businesses and commercial building rather than homes are most likely to not have enough space in land or don't have enough empty lands to specifically build single particular houses for each resident. With this evidence in mind , I agree with the given statement that, " The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks."

There are millions of people who works in large city and some are local and some are from outside the city. Let's assume people from city already have a home there, but that still leaves out lot of people who are from outside city , who need a residential home for there stay. For that reason alone, city need lot of residential homes, that also in city with no empty land. So i strongly agree to build tall apartment blocks for people tohave enough home for their stay without having to worry where to stay.

While i support this statement, we cannot overlook the fact that these tall apartment blocks should be very far from airport, school, hospital area. Because these tall apartment can be a cause of disturbance for the operation in these area. while enough homes are really necessary, but safety also comes first more than anything else. While building these apartment, safety measures according to civil construction should be taken like how tall blocks can be made in that area, how strong the foundation should be, etc.

To conclude this statement, enough home for all resident may be easy process in circumstance but had to be very careful while building these tall apartment blocks, without causing any social problem and being within earth law to prevent any future disasters.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can address limited space, and you also introduce safety as a qualification. The points about residents coming from outside the city and the need for sound foundations are relevant. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not compare this approach with other ways of providing homes or explain in detail why high-rise buildings are the best option. The claim that blocks should be far from schools and hospitals is also asserted rather than supported, and the conclusion adds “social problem” and “earth law” without explaining them. Develop each main reason with a specific example or explanation, and make the limits of your agreement clearer. (The response meets the task’s length requirement; 16 words copied from the prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to supporting points, a safety qualification, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “For that reason” and “To conclude” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the second paragraph shifts from city residents to newcomers without clearly establishing the assumption, while the third combines location, disturbance, safety, and construction standards. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, especially “While enough homes are really necessary, but safety also comes first.” Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it; use referencing and transitions that make the relationship between claims explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “residential homes,” “apartment blocks,” “foundation,” and “safety measures,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably unnatural, such as “empty lands,” “single particular houses,” “enough home,” and “earth law.” Repetition of “enough homes” and “tall apartment blocks” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise expressions and check whether words combine naturally: for example, refer to “available land,” “individual houses,” and “building regulations.” More accurate word forms and spelling, including “residents” and “to have,” would also make the argument easier to read. Build vocabulary around housing density, urban planning, and infrastructure.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “While I support this statement, we cannot overlook the fact that…” This shows an effort to use more than simple sentence patterns. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response harder to follow. Examples include “the most of land are covered,” “people who works,” “city need,” and “for there stay,” which show problems with articles, agreement, and possessives. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “While enough homes are really necessary, but…” combines incompatible linking structures, and several commas are separated from the preceding word. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build complex sentences with one clear linking pattern at a time.
