Student answer (Band 5.5)

In a reacent year the way of people live in large city has been icreasingly shaped by building tall apartment blocks. This trend has become widespread due to globalization. In my opinion, there are some drawbacks, this is largely a positive development because it is economical and it reduce land cost.

This has become highly influential mainly because of urbanization. Places such as Bahria Town and DHA allow builder to build tall apartment and show these to instantly million of people around the world. In addition building provide all facilities like parking and security at one place, enabling consumer to live comfortably regardless there income. As a result, these trend is much faster than in past.

I belive these trend is beneficial. Firstly, It is very economical and affordable as compared to independent houses. The maintainance of building shared many families, so middle class familis easily afford these. For example, In America 40% people shifted hosues to appartments due appartment maintaince is affordable. Secondlly, It provide all facilities at one place like lift, parking ,security and parks. so familis have no faer about anything due to on gate has security gard and children play in park with friends. Take and example of Jappan, where one survey ob appartment revealed that mostly people live in appartments due to secutity.

In conclusion, I belive that build the tall apartments have become a powerful force due to urbanization. Despite appartments have certain disadvantages, but its positive effect outwiegh the negatives.because it provide alot of facilities and also affoordable

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear general view that tall apartments are beneficial, especially because they are affordable and offer shared facilities. The examples of parking, security and parks are relevant to housing in cities. However, the response only partly addresses the question of whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes: it does not compare them with alternatives or explain how they increase housing supply. The opening also introduces globalization and the spread of the trend, which do not directly support your position. The claims about America and Japan are brief and not clearly connected to the argument. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, credible example, and acknowledge a relevant limitation before reaching your conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “Secondlly” help identify your reasons. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph focuses on urbanization and the spread of apartments, while the next gives reasons for supporting them; the link between these points and the question is not made explicit. Some connections are awkward or repetitive, including “In conclusion” followed by a repeated claim about urbanization and facilities. Referencing is also unclear in phrases such as “these trend” and “these.” Organise the essay around two directly relevant reasons, use linking phrases accurately, and make each paragraph’s central point clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “urbanization,” “affordable,” “security,” “maintenance” and “facilities,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “facilities” and “apartments.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “reacent,” “icreasingly,” “maintainance” and “securtity”—make the writing less fluent and can distract the reader. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “the way of people live” and “provide all facilities.” Build a more precise range for discussing housing and urban planning, check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations such as “the way people live,” “provide housing” and “shared maintenance costs.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result structure in “The maintenance of building shared many families, so middle class families easily afford these.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals and verb forms occur throughout. Examples include “it reduce land cost,” “builder to build tall apartment,” and “Despite appartments have certain disadvantages, but its positive effect outwiegh the negatives.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “so families have no fear” after a full stop and the run-together ending. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and article use.
