Student answer (Band 5.0)

Now a days housing is a big problem in large cities.Although build a tall appartment is a safe way to save land.I think government should focus on developing areas outside the city.I prefer to build own house and a tall appartment block house because the increasing population of our country give great impact on economy.

In my opinion, life is not easy now a days in time of inflation what i observe people are struggling due to high cost of living. In this scenerio, there are alot of things they can save such as; more than 10 people live in one large builing.

For example;a single tall building can accomodate a large number of families ratherthen, high rise builldings are cost-effective.for tall building government can easily provide basic things such as water, electercity, and gas to one central location instead of spreading them a huge area.

On the other hand, relying on tall appartments can create overcrowded and much population and its not good for community.increasing population means increasing transport and create much noise.Thereforefore, government should develope socities outside the city.it can be helpful to control transport

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the topic by supporting tall apartment blocks as a way to house many families and by raising concerns about overcrowding, transport and noise. You also introduce an alternative—developing areas outside the city—so there is a relevant basis for a balanced response. However, your position is difficult to follow: you say you think governments should develop outside areas, then write that you prefer both a house and an apartment block. The reasons are brief and sometimes unclear, and the response ends without fully explaining how the alternative would provide enough homes. The required minimum length is not met, which leaves the argument substantially underdeveloped. State your degree of agreement clearly and extend each main point with explanation or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an emerging structure: an opening paragraph, points in favour of high-rise housing, and a contrasting point beginning with “On the other hand.” This helps the reader identify the broad direction of the response. However, progression is limited because ideas are compressed together, and some links between them are unclear. For example, the sentence about inflation moves abruptly to “more than 10 people live in one large building,” without explaining the connection. The final point about developing societies outside the city is cut short, so the conclusion and overall argument feel incomplete. Use separate paragraphs for each main position, develop one idea at a time, and make the relationship between claims explicit rather than relying mainly on basic linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “high cost of living,” “overcrowded,” “cost-effective,” and “basic things,” which helps communicate the general subject. The range is nevertheless limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “appartment,” “scenerio,” “builing,” and “electercity.” Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “create overcrowded and much population” and “save land.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and a wider range of housing and urban-planning terms. Proofreading spelling carefully and choosing precise phrases will make your ideas clearer without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some sentence variety, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a longer sentence explaining how services could be supplied to one location. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences hard to interpret. For example, “Although build a tall appartment is a safe way” lacks a complete grammatical structure, while “the increasing population of our country give great impact” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. There are also issues with articles, plurals and punctuation, as in “a tall appartment block house” and the repeated lack of spaces after commas and full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses such as “because” and “although.”
