Student answer (Band 5.0)
EVERYONE IN THE WORLD WANTED TO LIVE IN THE CITIES , PEOPLE THINK THE BEST WAY TO PROVIDE ENOUGH HOMES IN LARGE CITIES IS TO BUILD TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS. IN MY OPINION,I TOTALLY AGREE THAT BUILDING TALL APPARTMENT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF GETTING HOMES IN CITIES.
FIRSTLY, DEALING WITH THE INSUFFICIENCY OF THE LAND FOR HOME THE BEST WAY IS TO FORM A TALLEST BUILDINGS WITH VARIOUS ROOMS BECAUSE IT CARRIES A SMALL HECTORES OF LAND AND ALL WILL BE ABLE TO LIVE IN COUNTRY AREA.THIS IDEA WILL PROVIDE A BENEFIT TO ALL THE CITIZEN LIVING IN THE CITY BY PROVIDING A BETTER EDUCATION FACILLITIES . EVERBODY CAN BE EDUCATED AND MAKE THEIR FUTURE BETTER. FOR EXAMPLE , ONE OF MY FRIEND SETTLE TO CITY FOR HIS BETTER EDUCACTION ,STUDYS WELL AND HOLD A OUTSTANDING POSITION IN GOVERNMENT OFFICE.
ANOTHER POINT TO BE CONSIDER IS, SMALL AREA TO BE COVERED BY SINGLE FAMILIES AS IT DOESNOT NEED LARGE AREA . EVERY CITIZEN WILL GET ALL THE INDOOR FACILLITIES LIKE ELIECTRICITY , WATER, INTERNET IN THE SAME BUILDINGS AS IT CONTAIN SEVERAL DOXEN OF APARTMENTS OR SECTION IN A SINGLE BUILDING. FOR EXAMPLE , ONE COMPARTMENT HAVE SEVERAL ROOMS WHICH CAN BE USED BY MANY FAMILLIES AS WELL AS THEY CAN HAVE THEIR PERSONAL SPACE .A TALL APARTMENT CAN SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT AND LAND TO BE DISPURSED AND POLLUTED.
IN CONCLUSION, TO DEAL WITH THE NEEED OF PEOPLE WANTED TO LIVE IN THE CITIES CAN BE FULFIILED BY BUILDINGS TALL APARRTMENT BLOCKS WHICH SERVE AS THE HOME FOR PEOPLE.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear position—“I totally agree”—and give two relevant reasons: tall buildings use less land and can provide shared facilities. However, the ideas are only partly developed. The education example about your friend does not clearly show how apartment blocks themselves provide better education, and the environmental claim is asserted rather than explained. The response also ends without considering any limitation or clarifying why this is the best way compared with alternatives. The required minimum is not met: the response is 243 words, seven words short, and 16 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a direct explanation and a specific example linked to housing supply.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Another point,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first paragraph moves from land scarcity to education and then to your friend’s career without showing the links between these points. Some connections are also awkward or repetitive, such as “as well as” in the apartment example. Use topic sentences that state one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in sequence. Clearer links between claims and examples, and more precise referencing, would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “insufficiency of the land,” “indoor facilities,” “citizen,” and “environment,” so the main subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “form a tallest buildings,” “small hectores of land,” and “land to be dispursed.” Repetition of “building,” “city,” and “people” also restricts precision. Aim to learn common housing collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate choices such as “limited urban land,” “high-rise apartment buildings,” and “reduce land consumption” would express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example “because it carries a small hectores of land,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Examples include “Everyone in the world wanted to live,” “one compartment have,” and “the best way is to form a tallest buildings.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, particularly in the long opening paragraph. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and articles before submitting.
