Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. While it is true that it is the best way to have enough living in large cities is to build tall apartments. I completely concur this arguement to build towers for enough homes to live for citizens.

This essay will not only elaborate my viewpoint but also provide relevant examples to support it.

To commence with, one of the most significant reasons is that if we build tall complexes for enough homes for citizens there will be no much need to cut down trees and harm our nature. We can build society of towers surrounded by greenery. Tall apartments can also have helepads in large cities. That is why towers are surged in large cities. This can be attributed to the fact that it is not detrimental for our nature and is widely plays a pivotal role.

Moreover, another crucial point to consider is that it will enhace the beauty of city. Futhermore, tall apartments society will incorporate amenities. A particulary good instance for this arguement is Mumbai a city in western part of Maharashtra in India. This is evident that it will provide enough spaces for homes in large cities. These are the reasons why I entirely endorse this statement

In conclusion, I vehemently agree to this statement because of the reasons discussed above. Therefore, the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment societies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear by the end: you agree that tall apartment blocks can provide homes, and you give relevant points about limiting tree removal and including amenities. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these ideas are asserted rather than explained or supported with specific evidence. The Mumbai reference is not developed to show how high-rise construction has met housing needs, and the claim that towers improve a city’s beauty is also left unexplained. Your opening briefly repeats the same position in unclear wording. The response is 222 words, below the 250-word minimum; the 31 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop two reasons with concrete examples and explain how each supports your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To commence with” and “Moreover” help identify the main points. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from protecting trees to helipads and then to a general claim about towers, without showing how these points connect. The Mumbai example is introduced but not clearly linked to the claim it is meant to support. Some linking phrases, including “This is evident that,” are awkward or do not clarify the relationship between ideas. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one reason, then explain it and give a directly relevant example; use referencing and transitions to make those links explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “tall complexes,” “greenery,” “amenities” and “detrimental,” and these choices show an effort to discuss urban housing beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation errors make the writing less natural, such as “arguement,” “helepads,” “enhace,” and “tall apartments society.” Phrases such as “enough living” and “enough spaces for homes” are also imprecise, so the reader has to infer your intended meaning. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “meet housing demand,” “high-rise residential buildings” and “green spaces.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise housing-related expressions would make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use a few attempts at complex structures, including “While it is true that…” and “if we build tall complexes…,” but the range is limited and these longer constructions are often faulty. For example, “While it is true that it is the best way to have enough living…” is incomplete in its contrast and has an unclear structure; “I completely concur this arguement” also lacks the required grammatical pattern after “concur.” Other problems include “it will enhace the beauty of city” and “it is widely plays a pivotal role,” where articles and verb structure are not controlled. These errors recur and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
