Student answer (Band 5.5)
The rapid increase in population has demanded an urgent need for houses.some people believes the most effective solution is to construct tall building,i agree with that because tall building can accommodate more number of people in small areas but i don't believe it is the best solution for the situation.
The major advantage of tall apartment building is that in it efficiently use the small area proparly .In largely populated cities where the land are very expensive and limited. So tall building allows hundreds of peoples to live in relatively small space, while leaving more land for parks, roads, and other facilities. For example cities like bombay have high rise building to accomdate large number of population without urbanising the rural area. They can build building near parks,bus-stand ,railways which increses public comfort.
However ,it also have some disadvantages like all lands are not suitable to withstsand the heavy load of tall building so they need to have proper resarch about land has it can lead to measure disaster. The building may fall due to that causing danger to many lifes.Another disadvantage is that it is difficult for family having children and old age peoples to live on the tops floors.and some builder may sale flat at high rate making difficult to afford for middle class peoples.
Goverment should take steps to build affordable flat for middle class people with proper research on land and everything.
So in my point of view building tall building is not a best solution to provide space .alternative solution should be find for that.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question by presenting a qualified position: tall buildings can house many people in limited space, but you do not consider them the best solution on their own. The advantages and disadvantages are relevant, and the examples of land for parks and transport, and the risks of unsuitable ground and high prices, support your discussion. However, the position shifts somewhat: the opening says you agree with the approach, while the conclusion says it is not the best solution, without clearly explaining what alternative should be used. Some points, such as the difficulties for families with children or older residents, are introduced but not developed. Clarify your degree of agreement and explain how tall blocks should fit into a broader housing strategy.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, one on drawbacks, and a concluding recommendation. This helps the reader follow the main line of discussion, and signposts such as “However” and “So” indicate shifts in argument. Cohesion is less controlled within some sentences, where ideas run together or the relationship between them is unclear—for example, “In largely populated cities where the land are very expensive and limited. So tall building allows…” The final paragraph also introduces government action briefly without linking it fully to the earlier points. Use complete sentences, clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and a conclusion that directly restates your qualified position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “population,” “limited,” “high rise building,” “affordable,” and “disaster,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “public comfort” and “urbanising the rural area.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “more number of people,” “measure disaster,” and repeated use of “building.” Spelling errors such as “proparly,” “accomdate,” and “increses” also reduce precision. Build a wider set of accurate housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is conveyed more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The overall meaning can usually be followed, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation make parts less clear. For example, “some people believes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “The major advantage … is that in it efficiently use” is not a complete, correctly formed clause. Several sentences are joined with full stops or commas inappropriately, as in “limited. So tall building allows…,” and “it also have” does not agree with its subject. Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries; this will make your arguments easier to read.
