Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, the population in big cities is too high, and there is not enough space for separate houses. Building massive apartment blocks in large cities provides flats rather than allowing people to build their own houses. I agree with this statement because it helps boost the country's economy.
On the one hand, building large buildings solves the housing problem. This can give enough space for making other things like markets and also a garden for walking and a playground for children. This also attracts tourists. For example, in Japan, there are too many massive buildings in their large cities, and tourists come to see these. It is decorated by different color of lights and also a 3d screens, which enhance the views of the buildings.
Furthermore, to give apartments to their individuals and the individuals pays rent to the government and the private companies. This insist in growth of the economy. Building large buildings in the cities improve the sanitery system and the roads in the city are paved and also the others facilities. This is also an eco-friendly system. Moreover, the main thing is that the rent of the building is very cheap, and evey person can afford it, but some time a person become unemployed it gives some time to find another job for paying rent. For instance, a person who stay on rent, but the other one has own house, after some time both are unemployed. The first person got worried about rent, but the second person do not worried about it.
In conclusion, giving houses to people in the form of apartments is a good thing. It helps a lot to boost the economy in term of attracting tourism.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is stated clearly at the start: you agree that apartment blocks help address housing pressure, and the conclusion repeats this view. You also give relevant points about using land for other facilities and attracting tourists, with Japan as an example. However, the response only partially answers whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The claim that they boost the economy becomes the main focus, while the housing benefits and alternatives are not explored in enough detail. The point about affordable rent and unemployment is difficult to follow and does not clearly show why apartment blocks are preferable. Develop two or three directly relevant reasons, explain how each increases housing provision, and support them with clearer examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help identify stages of the argument. However, the progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from housing to gardens, playgrounds and tourism, while the second shifts among rent, economic growth, infrastructure and unemployment. These points are not consistently linked to the central question. Some references are also unclear, such as “It is decorated” and “the first person,” which make the reader work out what is being discussed. Group related ideas together and use each paragraph to develop one main reason, with clear links between the claim, explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “housing problem,” “sanitary system” and “eco-friendly,” and you attempt to express ideas about urban development and affordability. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. For example, “This insist in growth of the economy” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “a 3d screens” is not well formed. Spelling errors such as “sanitery” and “evey” are also noticeable. Aim for precise phrases that directly describe housing and urban planning, and check spelling and word forms. The suggestions below offer alternatives for some repeated or unclear expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer structures, including sentences beginning “For example” and “Moreover,” and use simple sentences to communicate your main position. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms and agreement, sometimes making relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the individuals pays rent,” “Building large buildings … improve,” and “a person who stay on rent.” The sentence beginning “Furthermore, to give apartments…” is also incomplete or incorrectly structured, so its meaning is hard to establish. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and plurals. Breaking complex ideas into shorter, accurate sentences will make your reasoning easier to understand.
