Student answer (Band 5.5)
these days some people some people seem to argue that building tall appartments blocks is a good solution to provide enough homes to people in a large citie while others people disagree with this statements . However i agree to a great extent with this statement that building a tall appartments blocks is a better solution.
in the first place it would be quite true to say that in a big cities we have a very huge problem of accoumodation we do not have that much to provide to every one a alone a ground level home .
for example lets talk about a city which is a very famous all around the world the name of the city is new york so there we have a very huge populatin and we do not have that much land thats why we building a tall appartments to provide beter homes to everyone.
in the second lace it would be great to say that building a tall appartments gives us a lot of advantages . for example if we lives in a appartments it will be low cost as compared to a ground level home, the maintanance will be lower , we can enjoy a beautiful view from our window etc .
on the other hand if we talk about its disadvantages so yes a tall appartments have a lots of disadvantages lets didcuss some of its
for example if a older people living in a appartment and there is no lift in the building so they will face a lot of problems every day . Another example if a building do not have a lift so we will face a lot of stuggle to take any thing to our home like furnitures , fridges, other things which is a daily use in our homes like gas cylinder , crockery etc
To put in a nut shell, i pen down saying that it is indeed a debatable tpic which needs fyrther analysis and discussion . However, In the light of above discussed arguments and examples it would be quite safe to conclude that yhe advantages of building a tall appartments blocks ia a better wat to provide enough homes in a large cities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree to a great extent that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes. You address both the benefits and a disadvantage, using New York to illustrate population pressure and limited land, and noting that apartments can cost less and offer views. This is relevant to the question and gives the response a clear direction. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that apartment living is lower-cost would be stronger with a reason or comparison, and the lift example focuses on building access rather than whether tall blocks are the best overall solution. Develop these points and explain why the advantages outweigh the drawbacks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting reasons, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “in the first place,” “in the second place,” and “on the other hand” help readers follow the main stages. However, the linking is sometimes mechanical, and the repeated “for example” pattern makes the argument feel like a list. Some references are also unclear, particularly “some people” at the start and “its” when introducing disadvantages. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it, and use clearer references and a wider range of natural transitions to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “population,” “land,” “maintenance,” “advantages,” and “disadvantages.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “beautiful view.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “appartments,” “accoumodation,” “populatin,” and “stuggle.” Some phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “ground level home” and “a lot of stuggle to take any thing to our home.” These errors can make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for housing, affordability, and access.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if a older people living in a appartment and there is no lift.” This shows an effort to explain consequences, but the structure is not controlled: it needs a complete conditional clause and a correctly formed subject and verb. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “a tall appartments gives” and “in a big cities.” Other examples include “if we lives” and “we building a tall appartments.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and complete conditional sentences; then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
