Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this fast-paced world, the population is one of the major factor of all new housing problems because the deficency of places for living can be seen in developed cities on larger proportion. Therefore, I largely favor the notion of providing homes though making tall building which we will discuss in upcoming paragraphs.
It is fully understandable that making such type of sky scraper can be dangerous for our environment because these type structures have lots of limitations such as deforestation by cutting down trees and clearing homes of wildlife. Moreover, the relfection from glasses of these buildings can increase the heat in environment of that cities and cause many problems among public.
Despit all these limitations we need these buildings because they leads to many benefits for that city. Firstly, these building provides homes for large number of population in small area. For instance, in cities like Mumbai mostly population is concentrated in large building flats so that the problem of population is sloved. Secondly, the cities with sky scraper can attract huge investment from different parts of world such as cities like New York has the one of the largest trade markets in the world. Therefore, country can increase their economy in large scale.
In addition, these building can also help to develop high living standard by attracting rich people and act as a motivation for poor people by encouraging them towards business and education. Moreover, these building needs higher maintance and regulations therefore it leads to higher number employment opportunities for local communities.
In conclusion, although there are lots of limitation of this trend including deforestation and warmer environment, benefits like economic growth of city, upgradation of lifestyle and rise in jobs can outweigh these drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you largely support tall apartment blocks, while acknowledging environmental drawbacks. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including housing many residents in a small area, investment, employment and possible environmental effects. The Mumbai example helps illustrate density, although the claim that the housing problem is “solved” is too broad and would benefit from qualification or evidence. Some points are less fully developed: the link between skyscrapers, attracting wealthy residents and motivating poorer people is asserted rather than explained, and the New York trade-market example does not clearly show how tall buildings themselves generate investment. More precise examples and fuller explanation of these links would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph acknowledging drawbacks, two paragraphs supporting the proposal, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” make the stages visible. However, the repeated use of “Moreover” and “Therefore” can make connections feel mechanical, and some links between claims need clearer explanation. For example, the move from attracting rich people to motivating poorer people is abrupt. References such as “these buildings” are understandable, but repeated frequently. Use a wider range of linking methods and make the relationship between each example and its claim explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “deforestation,” “wildlife,” “investment,” “living standard” and “employment opportunities.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main ideas, but inaccurate spelling, word forms and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “deficency,” “relfection,” “Despit,” “sloved” and “maintance.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “homes for living,” “in larger proportion” and “increase the heat in environment of that cities.” Aim to learn common topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise choices would make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and attempts at complex sentences, including the concession “although there are lots of limitation…” and the cause-and-effect construction “because they leads to many benefits.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction. For example, “the population is one of the major factor” needs plural agreement, while “these building provides” combines a plural demonstrative with a singular verb. In “cities like New York has,” the subject and verb also do not agree. Review subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and proofread articles and sentence boundaries. Greater accuracy across these structures would make your ideas easier to read.
