Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a position in the opening—“I agree”—and repeat it in the conclusion, so your view is identifiable. You also give several potentially relevant points, including access to education, jobs and hospitals, and income from rent. However, the response only minimally addresses the specific claim that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. Much of the discussion shifts to the general benefits of living in cities, and the points are not explained with clear links to housing supply or supported examples. The response is also 68 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Focus on how high-rise construction increases housing capacity and consider a limitation or alternative before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your response has a recognisable overall shape: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal the order of points. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear relationships. For example, the paragraph beginning “Moreover” moves from cultural learning to employment knowledge and then rental income, without explaining how these points connect to the main argument. “However” is also used where no clear contrast follows. Give each paragraph one central reason, develop it in a logical sequence, and use linking expressions only when their relationship is accurate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “apartments blocks,” “facilities,” “education,” “jobs” and “rent payment,” and you try to express ideas about employment and city life. However, the range is basic and some word choices or combinations make meaning unclear, such as “upstanded jobs,” “best dite” and “short expensses.” Spelling errors are frequent, including “provied,” “biger” and “knowalge,” and these reduce the clarity and control expected at this level. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise phrases such as “high-rise apartment blocks,” “access to healthcare” and “housing supply,” and use them in sentences that directly answer the question.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, including a conditional beginning “if the house are bulit…” and a reason clause with “because.” These attempts show an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is inconsistent and errors often make the relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “the house are” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “people can improve there health” contains an incorrect possessive form and an unclear construction. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention; several long sentences combine multiple points without clear punctuation. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time, checking agreement, articles and punctuation.
