Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the present era of rapid urbanization the issue of housing and accomodation has predominatly taken effect. It is often argued that maximum number of individuals can be sheltered effeciently by constructing vertical apartments. I believe that it is one of the best solutions to accomodate the greater number of citizens dwelling in cities.
Elevated apartments occupy comparitively less physical space and area than conventional houses.Since urban centers are preoccupied with major business and commercial shops. A major chunk of the space is than located to housing authorities making the city overcrowded with multiple buildings. Authorities can overcome this issue by constructing tall buildings that will provide greater number of houses for the inhabitants. It can be witnessed in developed countries like China and Japan, that first adopted the model of vertical suites for citizens. These infrastructures have housed millions of individuals in a limited space.
Additionally, flats and vertical suites provide economical housing schemes for students and employees, working in cities away from their homes and families. Major universities in USA are located in urban centres such as New York, which provides ample opportunities for learners to secure an economical place for living and later to work in the same city. This futhers the need for constructing greater number of apartments and flats in overcrowded areas. Hence, the issue of housing people living in an overpopulated region can be resolved in this way.
To reiterate, elevated and tall buildings acquire less physical space and are significantly economical and accessible for people from all walks of life. Governmnets can overcome the issue of overpopulation by constructing vertical infrastructures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment buildings are among the best ways to house more city residents. You give relevant reasons, including their smaller land footprint and their usefulness for students and workers, and the references to China, Japan and New York help illustrate the topic. However, the support is uneven. The first paragraph explains the space-saving point, but the claim that apartments are economical is asserted more than demonstrated, and the New York example does not clearly show how apartment construction provides affordable housing. The response also focuses almost entirely on benefits, without considering any limitation or explaining why this is the best approach compared with alternatives. Develop each reason with a more specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Hence” and “To reiterate” make the progression easy to follow, and the main ideas are generally grouped appropriately. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “A major chunk of the space is than located to housing authorities” does not clearly connect the preceding point about commercial areas to the conclusion about overcrowding. The second body paragraph also moves from students and employees to universities and then to employment without fully explaining the links. Use clearer referencing and develop each paragraph around one tightly connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “rapid urbanization,” “overcrowded,” “inhabitants,” “economical housing” and “vertical apartments.” These choices show an effort to use less common language, and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “housing and accomodation has … taken effect,” “space is … located to housing authorities,” and “vertical suites.” Spelling errors—including “accomodation,” “effeciently,” “comparitively” and “Governmnets”—also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “housing demand has increased,” “allocate land for housing” and “high-rise apartment buildings.” Proofreading for spelling and checking collocations would make your vocabulary more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause beginning “Since urban centers…” and a relative clause in “students and employees, working in cities away from their homes and families.” Most sentences communicate the main point, and the range is sufficient to explain your position. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening sentence has a subject–verb agreement problem (“the issue … has”), while “Since urban centers are preoccupied…” is a sentence fragment because it is not joined to a main clause. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “greater number of houses” and “houses.Since.” Review agreement, article use and punctuation, and make sure dependent clauses are attached to complete sentences. These corrections would improve control without sacrificing sentence variety.
