Student answer (Band 6.0)
The most effective way to provide sufficient housing facilities in big cities is to construct sky rise residential appartment buildings. In my opinion, with growing population and increasing number of people moving to industrial cities, it will be a good solution to meet the requirments. We will discuss in this essay how it can solve one major problem and what impacts it can have on other factors around us.
Housing is a major issue in world's largets growing cities. Such cities provide good career opportunities resulting in lack of accomodation. Which, leads to higher demand of residences. However, it can be solved by building tall buidlings. Which can accomodate a lot of people using one block, as compared to individual houses. Where only few people can live and a huge part of land is used. Another benefit of building such buildings is people can get access to gym, pool and other facilities in same cost. It saves time and keeps them healthy. Moreover, people living in buildings usually have groups to discuss issues related to maintainance and if any event is coming up. So, it keeps them connected.
On the other hand, tall buildings take away the essence of home. People do not have their own yard and the freedom an open house offers. Where you can do gardening or have a private pool. Moreover, people coming from a bigger places or houses find it difficult to adjust to confind walls of appartments. Buildings lack the access to nature and open skies.
In conclusion, growing cities has a requirment , which can be fulfilled by tall appartment blocks. Therefore, despite of few drawbacks its great solution to fulfill the growing demand.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks as a way to meet urban housing demand, while acknowledging drawbacks. You address both sides with relevant points, including efficient land use, shared facilities and reduced access to private outdoor space. This covers the task well, but some ideas are more fully explained than others. For example, the claim that shared facilities “keeps them healthy” is asserted rather than supported, and the disadvantages of apartment living are listed without explaining how seriously they limit this solution. To strengthen the response, develop each main point with a specific example or explanation, and make your degree of agreement explicit in the conclusion rather than calling the approach simply a “great solution.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartment blocks, a contrasting paragraph and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps the reader follow the argument, and the main ideas are generally grouped appropriately. However, progression is not consistently smooth. The opening promises to discuss “what impacts it can have on other factors,” which is vague, and several sentence fragments interrupt the flow: “Which, leads to higher demand” and “Where you can do gardening.” Linking words such as “Moreover” and “Therefore” are useful but sometimes make connections feel mechanical. Improve cohesion by joining dependent clauses to the sentences they belong to and using clearer references between claims and explanations.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “career opportunities,” “accommodation,” “demand,” “facilities” and “essence of home.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “individual houses” and “open skies.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “appartment,” “requirments,” “accomodation,” “buidlings” and “maintainance,” and some word combinations are unnatural or imprecise. “Housing facilities” is less suitable than “housing” or “homes,” while “confind walls” is unclear. These issues limit the accuracy and flexibility of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and choose collocations that express your meaning precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex structures, including a conditional comparison (“as compared to individual houses”) and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but sentence boundaries and clause structure are not controlled consistently. For instance, “Which, leads to higher demand of residences” is a fragment, as is “Where you can do gardening or have a private pool”; both need to be attached to a complete sentence. There are also agreement and article errors, such as “growing cities has a requirement” and “with growing population.” Work on forming complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and punctuating clauses accurately. More reliable control of these basics would make your argument easier to read.
