Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people believe that the best way to provide people home is to build them tall block apartments for their residence. It is not wrong to say that increase in population causes the expension of the cities. Majority of the persons have no land to build there homes, so the best possible solution for them is to construct apartments in the tall buildings.
Many individuals came to the matropolitian cities in search of education, job, and better life style. This results in the over population in big cities which make it difficuilt to live there. If there is no construction of apartments in the tall buildings, it become very difficuilt for the outsiders to live in big cities. For example if a person came from the village in search of job and get his job, he needs a place to live. He needs a home for his family, thus he has to buy a land for the construction of his home. Resultantly the best way to manage all these difficulties is to build apartments.
A large number of students came to the big cities for their studies and the issue of their accomodation rises. It become very difficuilt to accommodate all these students in large cities. The construction of the apartments make it easier for them to reside. In case there are no apartments in cities then more land it required to provide shelters to students. Students are the building blocks of every nation and the future of every nation depends on their youth. Thus majority of the students came to the matropolitian cities and reside in apartments.
To sum up all these it is best to say that the construction of the apartments is the best way to provide home to the individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment buildings are the best way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons involving workers moving to cities and students needing accommodation. The examples help explain why housing demand rises. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it mainly asserts that apartments are necessary rather than explaining why they are the best solution compared with alternatives, such as building outward or improving transport to nearby towns. Several points are repeated, and claims such as “the best possible solution” are not supported with enough detail. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and briefly acknowledge a limitation or alternative before reaffirming your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs also group related points: the first discusses workers and migration, while the second focuses on students. However, progression within and between paragraphs is limited, and the same idea—that apartments accommodate people in cities—is repeated several times. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “Resultantly” and “To sum up” make connections visible, but some are mechanical or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The conclusion simply repeats the position rather than drawing the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences, develop each paragraph in a logical sequence, and vary referencing so that repeated nouns and claims do not dominate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “population,” “accommodation,” “construction” and “metropolitan cities,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “apartments,” “big cities” and “difficult.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “expension,” “matropolitian,” “difficuilt” and “accomodation.” Some combinations are unnatural, including “provide people home” and “tall block apartments.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main meaning remains understandable. Build a more precise range of housing and urban-planning vocabulary, check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations as complete phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including conditional forms such as “If there is no construction…” and a reason-result pattern with “thus.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors in verb form, agreement, articles or sentence construction. For example, “Many individuals came” and “it become” do not maintain appropriate tense or agreement, while “the issue of their accomodation rises” has an awkward grammatical pattern. The sentence beginning “For example if a person came…” also needs clearer punctuation and control of its clauses. These recurring errors can make reading less smooth. Practise accurate present-tense generalisations, subject–verb agreement and article use, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
