Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks and give several relevant reasons, including making room for parks, accommodating migrants, and reducing maintenance and security needs. These points show an attempt to address the question, but the response only partially develops the argument. For example, the claim that apartment living creates “more hormony” is not explained, and the references to schools and hospitals do not clearly show how tall blocks themselves provide enough homes. The conclusion repeats your general support without drawing the reasons together. The response is also 18 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable introduction, a series of supporting points, and a conclusion, so the reader can follow its general direction. You also use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Additionally,” and “Moreover.” However, the progression between ideas is not always clear: the discussion moves from migrants to open space, community harmony, and then education and hospitals without showing how each point supports the central argument. Some connectors feel mechanical, and the final paragraph introduces further benefits rather than concluding the preceding discussion. Paragraphing is limited, with most supporting ideas grouped together. Organise the body into distinct paragraphs, each focused on one reason, and use clearer references to connect explanations to the claim about housing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban development and public services, including “open space,” “healthcare facilities,” “communities,” and “amenities.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the topic, but errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are frequent and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “enogh,” “scrifice,” “bitter future,” “hormony,” and “availiblr.” Phrases such as “return this services” and “greater proportions of schools” are also not natural choices in context. Aim to use accurate, familiar expressions before reaching for more ambitious vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise terms such as “housing demand” and “residential buildings” would help express your ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use subordinate clauses, for example, “if we make houses by occupy less area then people will enjoy the open space more.” However, the range of structures is limited, and complex attempts often contain errors that make relationships between ideas unclear. There are frequent problems with sentence openings, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation: “for overcome this problem,” “i am agree,” and “if people lives” illustrate these issues. Several sentences also run together without appropriate capitalisation or punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add clauses using patterns such as “If more homes are built…”. Check subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
