Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern time the best way to provide enough home inlarge cities is to build tall apartment blocks .although some peolple mightcan be disagree with this argument but I largly agree that they offer great benefits to the peolpe who life in big cities with busy lifestyle.

The disadvantage of the tall apartments is alot of people starts to shift in the big cities and it can cause alot of lack of oppourtunities in rural areas the reasom behind is the companies that offer or build apartments are mostly the one who carete oppourtunities and have jobs and that might can cuase overpopulation in urban areas so in result of of targeting mass with alot of oppourtunities can effect rural areas more.

The lare cities withh tall apartments comes with alot of advantages one of them is mostly people who live in the large cities their life style is much busier then rural areas so they donot have enough time to manage big houses almost everyone in the family is working so how could its possible to clean home if its small or single flat it can be manageable . Furthermore alot of peolpe are moving towards larg cities in the search of job to build tall apartments block can be helpfull for the space for parks and grounds so that people can goout and could able to takecare of tehir physical health as well.

The conclusion of this argument is , although tall apartments comes with some disadvantages but as lifegoes on peolpe lifestyle is changes so it is important to adopt that life and tall partment is more convinent for the modern life

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear general position by saying you “largly agree,” and you offer relevant points about urban housing, employment, and residents’ lifestyles. However, the response only partly answers the question because it does not explain in enough detail why tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, or compare them with alternatives. The point about rural areas losing opportunities is relevant but difficult to follow and is not supported with a specific example. Your argument that flats are easier to manage for busy families is more directly connected to the topic, but needs fuller explanation. Develop two or three central reasons, explain how each increases housing provision, and support them with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a conclusion, so there is some organisation. The second body paragraph also moves from residents’ busy lifestyles to the possible benefits of preserving space for parks. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph shifts from apartment construction to rural employment without explaining the connection, and the conclusion mostly repeats the position rather than drawing the argument together. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore” and “although” are attempted, but some connections are awkward or unclear, as in “so in result of of targeting mass.” Make each paragraph focus on one main reason, use clear topic sentences, and ensure that each linking phrase accurately shows the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “overpopulation,” “opportunities,” “physical health,” and “modern life.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the argument difficult to understand, such as “peolpe,” “oppourtunities,” “carete,” and “convinent.” Some phrases are also imprecise or unnatural, including “lack of opportunities in rural areas” and “the space for parks and grounds.” These issues fit a response where vocabulary is minimally adequate but noticeable errors sometimes affect clarity. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for housing and urban development. Aim to express each idea with precise terms rather than repeatedly relying on “a lot of” and “people.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast in the opening and a reason introduced with “Furthermore.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “The disadvantage … is alot of people starts to shift” has an unclear grammatical structure, while “tall apartments comes” does not agree in number. The opening also combines clauses with “although” and “but” incorrectly. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause. Then check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation, especially where you join contrasting ideas.
